I just finished solo’ing 10 man Nighthold, which I was pretty pumped about because I wasn’t able to beat the bridge boss at the start of the expansion. It’s amazing what increasing your item level can do. I’m wondering if ToS and Antorus are doable.
Anyone attempt any of them? Have you pushed any higher difficulties or increased it to 25 man?
Err, there is no 10/25 for Legion raids. LFR, norm, heroic and mythic only. I think 10/25 stopped in WotLK?
I always stick my raid setting to 10 man and normal before entering a raid so I guess I just figured it mattered when solo’ing old raids. WotLK was the last expansion I actually legit raided with a guild haha. So I guess it makes sense I still have that in my mind. Been way too busy to dedicate time to a guild/raid like when I was a young buck back in the day.
Anyway, are they soloable? Are there any bosses that have unique mechanics and aren’t soloable atm?
I did Emerald Dream the other night just to see if I could and was pleasantly surprised.
Only other one I tried was Halls of Valor and lost interest after trying to kill the first boss for nearly 30 minutes.
Going to try Nighthold and Tomb of Sargaras this weekend.
My advice is, don’t try to solo ToV. Just start a group. The first boss is a duo and gets a damage reduction shield based on distance.
You can solo tov if you got a pet class toon.
I haven’t tried nighthold. I might give it a go. I’ve only attempted emerald nightmare on normal. Which is a cakewalk. I want to try trial of valor sometime. I thought the first boss was impossible, but I saw a video showing how. Looks pretty easy.
Most classes don’t have pets. But you’re correct that pet classes can solo it via pet tanking.
Plus finding someone to run it takes seconds from my experience. It’s less annoying/ stressful.
Trial of Valor can be soloed by any class by pulling Heimdall away from Hyrja when she freezes in place to cast spear of light. Burst Heimdall as soon as the damage reduction shield drops, then when he takes a knee to reconstitute you can go back and attack Hyrja while her own shield is down.
Haven’t tried Tomb of Sargeras but it seems doable if you’ve got raid gear. KJ might be a problem with soaks though.
I totally forgot about ToV. That one slipped my mind. I’m gonna attempt ToS and Antorus when I get back from getting my car fixed. Just waiting in the lobby bored.
Think Mythic KJ has been solo’d.
That is what I am going to end up doing. I didn’t realize it was a mechanic at first and couldn’t imagine how they over-tuned those two.
Dude same. I opened up the Dungeon Journal while they were wailing on me, read the mechanics of the fight and was just like, “aw shizzle dizzle”. Let then kill me and found a group instantly after.
I missed out on some of those ToV sets that drop, I’ll have to give them a go on my classes that missed it like my monk. I believe mythic is unobtainable, I think? I can still go for LFG, normal, and heroic… correct?
With a small group you could probably do mythic fairly easy.
That first boss is just a pain because you have to keep them apart in order to hurt them.
I’ve tried 25 mythic Nighthold and could not beat the timer on the first boss but 10 man mythic I had no issue.
Done it as Ret though and damage received was manageable.
