So im getting a new pc and my friend want to buy my old one , not for gaming but general use… Its has:

Omen Obelisk
I7- 8700k 6 core
2080 8GB Video
32 GB RGB Ram
250GB SSD + 2TB HHD

It’s worth more than that.

I’d put it on FB marketplace for $600 and try to sell it for 5 if they offer it.

500 would be a sane price but after the bitcoin gold rush people weirdly get near new value on used pcs.

I blame the schools.

In all honesty, the graphic card alone could sell for $150-$250. a 2080 is a decent card for gaming today, and if you didn’t blow her apart mining, them even better.

$500-ish to a stranger… less to a friend, free to family.

As with most used PC’s, its worth more parted-out, than as a whole.

Also, the guy who said $1,000+ is smoking big doobies, and your friend who offered $150… that might cover the GPU alone… maybe.

Amazon is selling those graphics cards for anywhere between $250 and $312 used, so yea, I’d ask closer to $1,000USD myself.

Like the other poster said, I’d put it on FB marketplace but for around $800-$1,000

For general use that’s hyper-over-kill. Tell him to get a bargain basement PC from a ‘big box’ store, and try to sell it to a gamer.

It’s about a friend—I would have given it to a friend for free. I don’t understand this attitude toward friends.
