Self buffed, how much HP armor? Can druids tank in AQ or BWL?
Thinking of making an alt, but not sure if they are ok to tank or that’s just dungeon tier tank class. Our warrior tanks are bulky as hell in our guild.
Our druid tanks, we have two, have nearly 10k health in dire bear form without full buffs.

They have more armor and more health than warriors. If your warriors have (made up numbers) 6000 hp and 8000 armor, then a druid would have something like 7500 hp and 10000 armor. On paper, druids have no real issues tanking.
Feel free to use bears on alliance. But if you’re horde, stick to warriors with windfury.

yeah, the whole “druids can’t tank” has been shattered, and there is very little that they cannot do.

As long as your druid has 13000+ AC you can tank Ragnaros.

tbh i’m kinda excited to see bear druid pov vids from naxx when that comes out.
Warriors are overall better, however there are many situations where bears do shine.

In the current BiS mitigation set, I’d have 6,539 HP unbuffed, and 13,520 armor. 323 Defense, 16.92% Dodge.

They’re not as good as Warriors, though. If tanking is your goal, I’d suggest playing a Warrior instead.
What buffs are they using exactly where they’re getting nearly 10k HP “without full buffs?”
Flask of the Titans, Elixir of Fortitude, and Mark of the Wild in full mitigation BiS with Moldar’s Moxie is only ~8,600 HP.
You just rounding up by 15%?
It’s possible for Druids to reach the armor hard cap in AQ40 gear. A fully buffed druid in full BiS gear will sit around 15k raw HP and 20k armor. Granted that’s with a Flask.
Self buffed without expensive consumes, maybe 12k HP and 16k armor? Though keep in mind this isn’t possible until P5/6, I don’t know how BWL gear figures for tank Druids.
You can hit the hard cap in BWL gear. I had to remove points out of thickhide. If you have shammy healing buff stoneskin pot then a def pot you will hit the 17k no problem. I sit at 13k armor unbuffed and 6500 hp

You don’t need high armor to tank Ragnaros, and you certainly don’t need 13,000 armor. I tank him with much less than that. Some fire resist is what you want.
Our druid tank is at around 10k fully buffed. Druid tanks are really easy to heal, definitely recommend making one
Armor hard cap is 17,260 and is completely possible to get prior to even setting a foot in raids, hp suffers a little though. But, one would have some fire resist.
Ragnaros only ever does fire damage. Fire resist is your armor and you sacrifice armor and health to get that. 315 resist is an average 75% damage reduction (I think about 30% of the hits do no damage at that point on top of your other mitigation).
His post was a joke. It was in reference to the video he even linked.
His melee attacks do physical damage (I think). Granted, they do a pathetic amount of damage in comparison to the fire damage that he does put out. At 0 FR, about 80% of the damage the tank will take is fire damage.
