How much gold do you all usually have in reserve?

I get anxiety when I get close to 2 million. Currently have 3.6 million and have spent about 3 million on bnet balance during BFA.

It is!

Depends on your job, is weekend OT a thing in your country?

I try ti keep 4-5 Million but its getting harder since to removal of Gold Missions in Legion.

Couple million. Had 10m going into this expansion and have drained most of it. Making gold now is a complete pain.

Yeah definitely. I cashed in with herbalism and alchemy at the start of BFA. I was out there farming with the Druid herb bots lol.

just enough for a token

These people flexing their millions of golds while me here is lucky that I even ever got 100k for the Alliance chopper mount, which is what I proceeded to blow all that gold on. And I want that Yak with the handy transmog…

I am a self-employed artist and writer. There’s no such thing as OT in my job. Or at least, not any that I get paid extra for. I do work well over 40 hours a week.

Like in real life, it’s easy to make gold if you have gold. When I saw the mats needed for the new flasks in 8.2 I bought out all of my server’s anchor weed, about 1.7m worth. Then sold it over the course of 2 weeks after the patch dropped for about 1.4m in profit after ah cut.

I always try to keep at least 2 mil, anything past that is spendin’ money.

I have probably made 10mil in profits since the expansion launched.

Ideally, I’d like to have a token’s worth of gold on each character as their buffer but inflation has been starting to outrun me. It isn’t an insurmountable challenge to catch up, but I’m not a goblin at heart.

I generally allow myself to spend only 5-10 percent of total gold I have. That, or 5 to 10k tops per one go. I don’t like to spend big.

I’m struggling at keeping 35g.

Highest I’ve ever been is 450K.

Been hovering between 125K and 200K all expansion. I don’t like going under 100K.

Darn!

I can’t say much in terms of details but I work for a private Japanese owned IT company. Boss always offers me choice to work extra because we are understaffed.

It’s good to hear about your perspective though! I hope to be able to try being self employed at some point even if just for the new life experience.

Make sure you have enough gold–er, money–saved up to live on until your business starts making money.

~2 millions.

I don’t even track my gold anymore since we can buy it with real money

It’s basically unlimited, countered only by my lack of desire to buy something in the game

a ton of stuff just isn’t worth buying, because:

  1. it will be worthless or massively devalued within 2-3 months
  2. I’m never sure if I’m going to be playing this game much longer due to the incredibly boring gameplay loop
  3. It would give me no dopamine at all, so it’s pointless to buy it. I’m not some addicted collector to wow virtual junk. It’s gotta be something with lasting value or QoL.
  4. Almost everything sold by bliz seems to be sold again for a questline or via much cheaper method at some later point in time, either via lame skin swap or via nerfing the QoL benefit because the content is so lean that they want us to keep regrinding stuff we already bought

I try not to get under 250k, whenever I get up past a million I always seem to spend it on silly stuff like pets or mogs though, bad at the saving part.

I could never be rich because I dislike being cheap and hoarding, no offense to people who have a lot of savings but sitting on a virtual pile of money is stranger/worse even to me than sitting on one RL.

That said I’d love to have enough control to save up for the long boi, it will be my new goal for end of expansion.

<-< a few thousand…
im uh… kinda broke on hawkens…
