How much gold do I have to have to raid?

Everything is GDKP and I only have 200g in the wallet. What’s the ideal amount so I can go abuse DMN?

Go as carry and collect gold until you have enough to buy. Most gdkp players aren’t buyers.

  1. join a guild that does the non-naxx raids
  2. join SR pugs, usually advertised in your server discord or lfg or hosted by guilds in their discords
  3. do the easier gdkps like zg/mc. They have very low requirements and you can usually walk out with 100g from each one

Bwl gdkp is bis.

My BWL gdkp on Saturday had a 408 gold payout.

Not bad for an hour run.

my best bwl gdkp was a 1k payout, some dude dropped 22k on a DFT

Dft actually dropped on Saturday, it only went for like 6k.

We had so many good drops tho.

My best payout was like 930.

It’s such easy gold every week for an hour of work, and it’s so old you don’t need consumes or buffs.

I am not doing GDKP Raids because the most of the gold would be from buyers … and this is disgusting .

These days most carry’s are established. 90% of the gdkp’s are just looking for buyers at this late stage

As per how much - you should have enough to repair your gear before and after, and for any consumables that are required to be in that raid.

MC, Ony and ZG really won’t pay out as much, but you can go in with some much sillier gear without too much issue.

Raiding right now is a bit of a mix because most people are waiting for TBC, and most of the regular raids on the servers outside Naxx are just people running GDKP raids, though I see quite a few MS/OS raids also. Look at your servers discord, a lot of guilds will advertise their runs and what type of loot system they use there.

If your under geared, you can pick up a lot of gear cheap in GDKPs as there are usually a few items that are expensive, and then a lot of stuff that nobody really needs. It depends a bit who is on the run though. Most gear starts at 20g, so you will probably get enough gold to pay for a few items. As a hunter you can probably pick up most of your tier gear, as well as the hunter quest bow (MC/BWL/ZG).

This will probably switch back to more normal raiding with different loot systems in TBC, I don’t know anyone who raids progression and new content with GDKP, but I am sure there are plenty of guilds who do if that’s your thing, though personally it wouldn’t be for me, but each to their own.

ZG and BWL gdkps are numerous enough that it should be possible to get into one as a mediocre carry. AQ and Naxx are more difficult if you don’t display a willingness to spend, but it shouldn’t be too hard to get a nice base started in easy raids. The only problem is that BWL payout can be incredibly random.

Idk if its the same on other servers, but on mine the real problem would be making the cutoff. Most GDKPs on my server require at least 40% of top dps to receive a cut and an undergeared hunter is unlikely to compete with the tryhard naxx geared warriors that bring wcb into bwl runs.

I completely ignore unguilded hunters. Good luck with your 200g sucks to be poor. Most smart GDKP runners will blacklist you if you come under geared and do not bid on anything.

ok what about an unguilded mage

Mine always suck. Terrible loot luck in bwl since release.

Yea it’s hit or miss, 2 weeks ago was only a 212 payout.

My highest was like 907g.

It all depends on how many buyers.

Prepatch might have good gdkps since people will be hearing their shamans and pallys.

Unguilded mage is just as bad as a unguilded hunter.
