In terms of gold, if I pay a mage to boost me from 10-60 is it say 1000g in total?
Yea probably about that give or take. Whether you actively loot/sell and whether you AH or vendor can make a big difference over time. If you’re looting, putting stuff thats likely to sell on the Ah and making sure to clear your bags regularly you can actually make a profit boosting up through Mara. Also level your first aid. The heavy bandages tend to vendor for a little less than the cloth sells for (though check on your server first) but they take up half as much bagspace. if you can find a booster that lets you keep the Ele Earths that’s an even bigger win,. Herbing is also not a bad idea because the herbs you can find near the entrance of both SM and Mara tend to sell well.
52-60 are the real gold sinks and where you’ll spend the vast majority, if not all, of your gold since you won’t really be looting anything and the gold/exp gets a lot more expensive. (You can get Mara boosts for 30+k exp for 15-20g, whereas a ZG boost is usually 20-25g for 15-20k exp) Strat is better for the money, but usually takes a team of 2 mages to do well so you don’t find them near as often
