Do the guilds running L60 content allow non-meta specs for their players? Curious if any guilds run with say, an arms warrior, spec’d for PvP, or if you respec every raid or need separate characters for PvE and for PvP given there is no dual spec?
I’ve heard that its pretty solid meta but I think for the most part everyone is soo good at the game that fun specs could probably be allowed to exist.
I’m ele enhance mix all the way so I hope they let us play
some guilds might not invite you to naxx every week as arms but shouldnt be to big of a problem if ya stick around long enough and maybe try out different servers
For arms, well prob best to roll fury/arms pve until you have arms pvp bis. Same with classes which can heal but have other specs with good pvp utility but bad pve damage because they run out of mana on longer fights.
Classic Era still has the 16 slot debuff limit. Arms is not allowed in any raid that’s actually trying because mortal strike eats up a debuff slot.
In SoM, arms was playable due to no debuff limit… but the emphasis on harder bosses while trash remained unbuffed meant you needed to be fury during progression in any decent guild.
If single-target DPS wasn’t an issue, then there was no issue with an arms warrior in a SoM raid.
Alpha, you specifically mentioned Naxx, but what about phase 1-4 raids? As someone who would be freshly 60 on era and has not run vanilla raids in 15 years, it would be fun to play through all that content (And the wife never played vanilla so it would be new & fun for her)
Do any guilds roll alts and play pseudo-progression or is that not a thing?
They mostly just need bodies for MC/ZG/AQ20 on era so you can probably get away with it… you’re not getting big items though.
i doubt many people would deny u a spot for mc zg aq20 or bwl. aq40 and naxx are more sweaty on era
Cool, thanks guys!
Depends on the guild, how picky they are, how experienced their core raiders are, etc. We have Naxx on farm and take a boomkin, ret pal, cat druid from time to time. Most non-meta specs still offer utility or buffs.
