How may L120 players are needed to kill Kil'Jaeden on Mythic?

Someone could help us defeat the last boss Kil’Jaeden on Mythic in “Tomb of Sargeras”?

How many players do we need? We got one tank and me a DPS.

We are at the last boss.

Well, it does not, because we are at the last boss waiting for like 60 minutes.

Everyone just quits.

We’re in the group tool by the way in case that some humble heart wants to help us.

99% of mog farm runs will refuse to even attempt mythic KJ. And with good reason, he’s the most overtuned boss in all of legion. The standard protocol is to down Avatar and leave.

If you really want to kill him, you need make a KJ only kill group stacked heavily with Demon Hunters.

A full group is usually best to avoid some of the nasty overlaps… but that said you probably won’t find anyone willing to come to just KJ. People want transmogs from other bosses and will not waste their lockout for that boss.

You likely need at least like 10 people to do the soaks, but even then that isnt really the issue. The problem is KJs knockback mechanic that you cannot avoid in any way unless your entire group is Demon Hunters. That one mechanic kill pugs since you cannot out level a knock back mechanic that throws you off the platform.

Probably 80% of applicants cannot do that mechanic right anyway, and even less during the darkphase with Illidan. You are better off waiting till next week and trying to make an all DH group to do it.

If KJ is that hard, how did people kill him when Legion was current?

I was in a group that skipped him and I was quite disappointed.

He isn’t overtuned, he’s simply a difficult boss. Mythic KJ is probably the hardest boss in the history of WoW; there’s a reason so few guilds killed him when he was current.

That’s what I mean by overtuned though…

His mechanics and damage are the most difficult in all of legion. Next closest is Agg.

Overtuned means “more difficult than he should be”. Mythic KJ was nerfed back in Legion and is exactly where he should be.

So how do I avoid the players leaving the raid all of a sudden?

Well considering he’s the pug breaker 1 expansion later yet the supposedly higher tier raid (abt) is easier than him, I’m gonna have to say you’re wrong. He’s still very much overtuned.

It was the same with gate boss in HFC from WoD. Another mechanically overtuned boss that didn’t get the nerfs it needed until only recently. So my guess is mythic KJ will get the nerfs he needs some time in patch 9.2.

I think it says more about how bad the playerbase is in general that they can’t kill a boss that they outgear by 200 item levels, than it does about any boss being ‘overtuned’.

Inconvenient is more accurate since overtuned is generally used in describing current content. Kil’Jaden is inconvenient to kill, he is not overtuned.

I would say bosses turns into solo farming phase when they are 2 expac away. Any mechanics that is not soloable should receive a change. Raid achievement is another story. Legion is just 1 expac away, I would wait.

How do you plan on enforcing that?

That’s how it works currently. Legion isn’t 2 expansions old though. They ended up tweeking HFC gates due to complaints.
