How many years will WoW last?

It’s impossible to predict. When you look at national spending its been in la la land for over a decade through Obama Bush etc. Everyone thought the Bible would burst in covid but it kept going so I assume it’ll burst when the elites want it to. Feels like it should’ve already.

Long enough to wean addicts off of it gradually. They can’t just pull the plug at this point. We, er I mean they, will have to meet with counselors and reacclimate before rejoining society.

I doubt WoW will ever go anywhere.

People are still playing Everquest, an MMO from 1999.

Well, we have 5 more expacs planned. Even at 18 months each, that’s 7.5 years. I suspect WoW will celebrate its 30th anniversary with one final expansion to wrap it all up.

According to the population wow has been “dying” since vanilla.

I’ll believe it when i see it. It’s not going to be for a long time.

What constitutes the game being “alive”?

Now and then I still play LOTRO, DDO, Conan Exiles and others. They have small populations, but still get content updates. I think most WoW players would consider those small populations too small, and perhaps dead, but those who play don’t.

four score and seven years.

Probably in the trash since it was always PvP only.

WoW is celebrating 20 years right now. Every year of those 20 people have claimed it was dying, or was dead, or would be killed off by this next amazing mmo. Yet, here it is, still going strong.

WoW will not end until the world ends or Blizzard pulls the plug.

“The world may never know!”

guys, when is the game that they’ve predicted will die every year for 20 years now finally die?

If they do the Undermine patch and especially the houses right and on time. As someone who started in BC and even before that on OGW I have been here 25+ years. And if they do it correctly, I’m saying at least 20+ more years. If all the other stuff planned goes well, then forever, or at least till Microsoft shuts it down. But i don’t see that happening, it makes to much money. Now i do think we are only like 5-7 years from WoW in its current state changing drastically, which could be good or bad. Just have to wait and see.

Retail wow’s player base is in maintenance mode with the way its structured you probably get a 0.5/1 ratio. Outside of a major patch or release windows were probably in its baseline.

actually maybe ur right, game hasnt been released on mobile yet since its basically whalebait im pretty sure it will get there soon.

At least 20. But even then. Even the Zoomer grandkids will be into it.
So way more. Like. FOREVER. Essentially. They should make prep now for that.
Totally. OH AND…

CMONG NOW there needs to be a VR version much sooner!

I mean, for awhile there, it was a fairly accurate statement. It wasn’t dying quickly but it was on a fairly blatant decline that showed no signs of turning around.

But it stabilized at some point. I suspect it has more to do with just hitting the floor of “people who will probably never permanently unsub” than anything to do with whatever the design philosophy of the game has been these last few expansions, but if WoW declined at the rate it was from Cata thru WoD, we’d have no players left around the time BfA launched.

Dragonflight Classic.

A broken clock is correct twice a day. Doesn’t give any merit to the statement it’s dying.
It hasn’t died, therefore it has never been dying.

it would last until hundreds and hundreds of trillion damage, healing numbers
