How many years will it take for the NE to get a new home?

It is. All the deaths from the Fourth War, including the kickoff at Teldrassil, were sent directly into the Maw to give Sylvanas purple powers. This is the Maw which Sylvanas, in her short story, described as a void of infinite pain, torment, and hopelessness.

Gnomeregan: Mekkatorque decides the way to save the city from the troggs is to flood the place with radiation.

Gilneas: Genn enlists the help of the Worgen to fight the Scourge. A human gets bit, brings the curse into the city.

Goblins: Seems like Azshara is their newest homeland. No need for a new one.

Teldrassil: Corpse Queen with impulse control issues decides to burn it down. The only thing the night elves were guilty of (in this instance – clearly they’ve got plenty of red in their ledger) is being a perceived threat. Sylvanus and the Horde had the Kaldorei cornered. She could have kept the threat contained. But a defiant, dying night elf pissed her off, so…genocide?

Seems like the night elves should move to the head of the new homeland list.

Its true. Were not sure when shadowlands broke and sent everyone to the maw, but devs said anyone who died 4th war went to the maw.

what i thought it was genocide according to the forums? that would mean there arnt any left are you saying that it wasnt?

Didn’t you watch the end of the war cinematic? Azeroth is home.

Wasn’t enough for Sylvanas to nearly wipe out the night elves for no reason, she also had to send them all to the darkest pits of Hell just so she could get stronger.

Feels great to be a night elf player.

Why we don’t just officially build a capital in Hyjal, I’ll never know. Apparently the druids are nEuTrAL.

The Holocaust was a genocide, and there are still Jews.

that wasnt the goal of the horde LOL they wanted the land that is all so once again not genocide :0

brace yourself, it gets worse. they’re going to stick with this happy-sappy love-fest between anduin and thrall for several expansions, and tyrande and the night elves who follow her are going to end up the villains of an entire expansion in the future. the night elves are done, and i’m rerolling all my nelf toons into the allied races. just waiting for 8.3 so i can swap my main to a lightforged draenei DK

And then when they got there and Qween Sylvie decided to burn the tree, she did it intentionally, knowing the majority of them would have no way out. Hence, genocide.

You can keep moving the goalposts if you want, though.

sacking a city is once again not genocide its a military move used many times IRL

How long was Stormwind damaged?

Multiply that by two

Her goal was to kill as many of the night elves as she could. Blizzard themselves said it was genocide in the novella.

There definitely was a reason. She wanted power and she needed as many souls as possible sent to the maw.

It’s not a good reason but despite how it was portrayed it wasn’t some spur of the moment crime of passion
