How many Venthyr ACTUALLY do the Ember Court thing?

I do it once in a while. I hated it at first but gave it a couple more chances. It isn’t my favorite thing to do but every now and then when isn’t too bad.

Did the tutorial.

raised one eyebrow (like the rock) wondering how that garbage got the A-ok from the devs.

Never gave it one more second of thought.

I just don’t care about covenant crap lol. Nothing personal to Ember Court.

I don’t think the ember court is bad per se but, the whole weekly thing feels rather unnecessary. Given its purely cosmetic uses, its very easy to put it off until a weeks gone by and then you just feel silly for having wasted a week but, not really cuz everything in there is useless from a gameplay perspective. I’d like it if the court was a once every 3 or so days thing. Then you’d feel like you’re making some decent progress i’d feel.

Just once, never again. I cant even delete the things from my mail that extend the invite duration.

Id love to complete it for the xmogs but its content is just so stupidly boring and annoying. Creating the event itself is not bad, the quests to organise it - but running around serving tea or killing a mob - cleaning puddles of mess? Rubbish.

It takes to much time to get invitations… good 1 to 2 hours to get 1 guy, no thnx I rather pass on it.

i forgot all about it after the tutorial

I have done it twice. My SO does it every week.

Never done it

It’s just a party, you mingle. It’s supposed to be kind of chaotic. Ten minutes out of your day, once a week. You can boost the time gradually as well.

–Arrange the party to play to the likes of your two guests, and you’ll be fine. You can change your guests ahead of time, to make sure their likes are balanced. Combos that work against each other can give a poor result (like one guest who likes Danger, while the other likes Safety).

–Make it easy on yourself the first few times you do the Court: the Venthyr Cryptkeeper is one of your first and best guests. Make sure you invite him with Kleia and Pelagos. Arrange the party to be Humble and Formal, it’s foolproof. Do the judging of souls event (easy, quick, big bonus), kill manifestations with the Cryptkeeper (he LOVES killing them), and you’ll get mad loot at the end. Kleia and Pelagos get in on this also.

-Always open your map, and look for the stars. Focus on the events that you like.

-Chitchat with the NPC partygoers when you can spare a second, they give you combat buffs, There are three: Speed, Health and DPS. Do this ESPECIALLY after the Court ends, but before you leave the scenario: you can have all three at once, they stack to five each, and they last after you leave.

–Fight gatecrashers, asap. Lots of fights take place, because of gatecrashers. I got a 207 drop off of a boss that showed up the other day. Also when you kill the boss, bonus happiness for the guests.

If they did this back in the day, it would have been huge. It’s sad that it’s lost on WoW players now though. Then again, Blizzard did it to themselves.

Okay back. Exalted.

My Dredger Butler now does the restock quest for me so that’s a headache off my shoulders. Even with Nadjia helping , farming rubies is slightly irritating. My alts usually have all the other supplies I need for those.

I did the tutorial. Said “nope” and haven’t touched it again. There’s already too many time consuming things I have to do and farm this expansion. Maybe I’ll come back to it in a couple of years. On an alt. When I’m really bored.

Considering how hard it is to get a decent amount of anima I have yet to get any of the covenant unlocks.

I just don’t really see the point. I feel blizz put that stuff there to get people to waste anima as early as possible to prolong how long it will take for you to afford vendor purchases.

Not even once

I do my ember court every week. I find it enjoyable. The mini games they’ve put into it are kind of fun. I have even invited people to go to my party.

My only complaints about it:

  1. More ember court rep should be given out at the conclusion
  2. People who attend should be able to help kill stuff in the court (like the rares) and participate in the other activities.
  3. Better rewards at the end of the court. Some are kind of lame
  4. Better party favors for the people I invited. They get a hat and some buffs, but a buff token would be better so they can use their buff when they are going to be out in the world vs hanging out at the end of the ember court.

so you dont want flying ?

aside from that I cannot understand why people play an RPG game if they dont like questing and doing story campaigns

I joined pretty late with the first Ember Court unlock but I try to do it every week to explore the different activities it offers and as a break from dungeons or other instances.

I actually do the Ember Court. I think it’s kinda fun. Although the rewards are kinda lackluster, I find the whole thing silly in a good way.

I think it’s about time Blizzard returns to some of its roots by having stuff in the game that is funny/silly. I can’t tell you how much I miss The Steemwheedle Cartel. Their quests were fun, silly and many times, silly.

I think this is one reason why I appreciate the Venthyr in general: a bunch of “high society” wannabees. It’s hysterical.

Yeah I am all for that kind of thing but you know the rewards should match the difficulty or time spent. If you do hours of stuff a day to get a few minutes’ worth of rewards, its not very well built.
