I quit during the WotLK Beta, because the numbers for damage/healing looked bad. I quit during Cata because the game got stupid easy, like not needing cc in dungeons. I quit after an argument with friends during MoP. I quit Legion because leveling was like going through a labyrinth, with a the complicated map design. So that’s 4 times. How many times have you quit WoW?
I quit for awhile at the end of MoP, even though I liked MoP. Just burned out. Can only take Timeless Island for so many months, you know? Quit even earlier at the end of WoD, for obvious reasons. Stayed away so long I started late on Legion. Left early on Legion too because I never was able to really catch up and was kinda burned out again.
I think it was 4 for me as well. Once during BC because I was just broke, got burned out in cata, didn’t have much interest in Mop, and more or less the second I saw my first dungeon of the new RNG loot system during WoD. Came back right at the end and been subbed since though.
Only once, in late WoD, after my guild was done raiding Hellfire Citadel and I was fed up with the expansion so I quit and played another MMO.
Then I came back late in Legion, only to find out I had missed the best WoW expansion since Wrath.
I am up to three
The first was during Wrath, deleted all my Vanilla toons and swore never to return.
The second, returned during Cata as SWtOR was a huge disappointment, I did a few toons as a tourist and left.
The Third, came back when Legion went on sale, unsubbed just recently, Classic too far away to wait, BfA not so interesting.
5 times.
Started in Vanilla quit in Cata after clearing the first raid tier…
Came back at end of Firelands and left again during Dragon Soul.
Came back again during at the end of MoP and did 3 months of SoO.
Quit WoD 3 weeks after the release of Black Rock.
Came back 3 weeks before Legion.
Quit Legion a month into Nighthold came back 2 weeks before Argus raid.
I would make it 6 but I converted some gold to tokens to blizzard bucks to get the mount and 6 months of game time… So I cant quit again until March.
I’ve never really quit. I just stop logging in for a while when I’m busy or bored. I’ve probably played around 40% of the last 14 years, but subbed 70% of the time because I forget abut the $15 coming out of my account each month.
Can I write that off on my taxes as a donation?
Never. I’ve taken short breaks every now and then and there were down periods where I played a lot less (like the end of WoD). But I’ve never officially quit with the intention to not return. Always been a steady player since I joined.
I have quit 12 times and made a thread letting everyone know of the news. Each quit lasted between 6-12 hrs. Blizzard really need to improve WoW.
I have never quit
Never. I just take 2-3 month breaks every year.
Twice since I started in Cata. The first time was towards the end of MoP, right before Siege came out due to a mix of burnout from raiding on multiple toons and no flight zones. The second time was a couple of months after WoD released, due to the fight on flight. Been subbed continuously since launch day of Legion.
Not really quit, but more like take a break. Cause this lack of a progress was getting to me.
Never.
Even though the current so-called contentcough is disappointing, there is still more than enough in this game that I do, and with enthusiasm.
Alts; to whatever level.
Achieves.
Darkmoon Faire.
Holidays.
Trolling the forums; especially where I butt heads with those who twist my words.
Serious red flag, that.
Ah the days are just packed.
Can we have a definition of “quit”?
If we mean “leave with the intention never to return”, then never.
If we mean “take a break, more or less prolonged, when I am bored and no longer care to log in”? Four times, maybe five.
If we mean “leave for a period, more or less prolonged” for any reason, including time away because of work, or being without internet or computer access? Maybe eight or nine.
I come and go. I’ve never thought “that’s it - I am never coming back!”
Never, have had a continuous sub since 2005. Never lapsed once.
never in 10.5 yrs
I have never quit since I started to play at the launch of WotLK.
I don’t quit-- I take breaks.
None. I have never even threatened to quit. That’s not my style. If and when I reach that point, I will simply cancel my sub (one already cancelled, one to go) and simply move on to something else. No one – even Blizzard – will give a flying you-know-what about me leaving, so there would be no sense in announcing it.
