on Azeroth?
I get WOD because it's a new planet. Ok so back to Azeroth have to take care of the Legion so lets do Pathfinder on Azeroth because we didn't do that yet.
Now we need to unlock Pathfinder on Azeroth again? It's not like where on a different Hemisphere of Azeroth.

It’s actually nonesense.
The days of making in game reasons (cold flying) is over. Now it’s so immersion breaking - explanations are good - but to just say “we felt the pathfinder way is the best way to get players to enjoy the content before taking to the skies” is so bs. I don’t feel immersed in the world anymore.
It’s all cold logic and system based on knowing what’s happening outside of the game to make any sense of it. It’s all so articicial. This is not what an MMO should feel like.

If this was the case we should be able to fly immediately after doing loremaster and getting the reps up to revered or whatever
but the timegating is really destroying this whole thing

It's an expansion feature that likely isn't going anywhere.
Not that complicated.

Pathfinder was never a compromise. Its an illusion! It is basically removal of flight from the game during current relevant content. Bring back flight. Its part of what made WoW unique.

can we just buy WoD flying now.
Except for Cata and two levels of Wrath, flying has never been available for current relevant content, to say nothing of the fact that flying has never been allowed in current relevant instanced content.10/24/2018 07:17 AMPosted by XalidarPathfinder was never a compromise. Until all flying supporters have unsubbed and Blizzard can remove flying from all new content and save development costs by making 2D facades for the rest of WoW's life.
It is with each Xpac now and will be because buying it at max when you did all the questing zones was just crazy talk.

What?
What is your definition of relevant content?
Outside of Cataclysm flying was only restricted from leveling content. Content that you can still complete in a day or two. After which, even if you hadn't completed Loremaster and Explorer, you could fly around completing those and doing dailies at max level. Or archaeology, or gathering, or pet battles, or ganking, etc, etc.
Gameplay mechanics trump lore and immersion, and have done so since the very beginning of the game. A great example is the fact that rings take up as much space in your inventory as a giant two-handed sword.
So, yeah. Nothing new.

Not really. Just play the game for an entire expansion and you will get it more like it. Because that's when Blizzard arbitrarily decides the reward and entire reason for even bothering to do it should be made available.
Well technically you don't HAVE to unlock it at all.

We'll never have flight during relevant content again. The alternative to Pathfinder is no flight in new expansions at all. That was the plan in Warlords and they backtracked to add Pathfinder.

2 times an expansion. Not sure if you were here in WoD and/or Legion because it seems like this comes as a shock to you, even though this is how they said it will be unlocked going forward and in every new expansion.
Don't like it. Then I guess you won't be flying. Extremely easy to unlock.
Pathfinder is stupid. Keep the achievement or whatever but weeks of daily gated rep grinds on top of a delayed release is just an !@#$%^- move imo.
Some intrepid explorer keeps blazing new paths for us to find, and when I locate them I'm going to launch them into the sun.
Except -- other than Cataclysm -- flight was never available during current RELEVANT content. Until WoD, you had to reach max character level to purchase [insert expansion name here] flight training. Which meant you had done well over 70% of the current content -- Wrath, where you had to have personal flight to get to half of Storm Peaks and any of Icecrown -- and even 100% depending on your play style. Cataclysm is the only xpac where personal flight was available from day 1 of the xpac, and the FIRST TIME it was available on Azeroth in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.10/24/2018 07:17 AMPosted by XalidarPathfinder was never a compromise. The argument that personal flight allowed players to skip current relevant content is just flat out not true, and is regurgitated by players who don't bother to stop and think about when personal flight became available for each xpac other than Cata.
