Maybe if they released allied races in more batches 2 popular ones and two more niche ones. Like I doubt Sethrak fans would have had such a problem with mechagnomes if Sethrak and mechagnomes came out at the same time.
Disagree, former FF14 players and younger players want to be the more human races in an mmo because most want to be the âgood guyâ or simply not play an âuglyâ race. I played Vanilla WoW most of the adult players (i started playing WoW in the military with 20 other adults, NOBODY wanted to be Alliance lol) BEâs was WoWâs pretty race, male & female unlike NEâs where most ppl play the females over the male model. Beâs are the prettiest race regardless of faction, thats why void elves were an important addition to the Alliance but they messed it up by NOT allowing veâs to be the more popular classes (Pally or DH) they are correcting that with void dhs. Also the Horde player population has always outnumbered the Alliance, your on the very race that pushes the Hordes numbers past the Alliance anyways telling me ppl want to be Alliance?
sethrak, aarakokra, saberon, and drakonids are probably not happening because nobody except furries care about them
ogres probably not happening because theyve been generic bad guys for the entirety of warcraftâs existence, in that time they havenât produced art/models of female ogres due to being unable to make them ogre-y and also attractive
botani have no lore/reason to join the alliance or horde
vrykul would be cool but weâd probably get gimped demi-vrykul so they can fit through doors and alliance players would be crying tears of blood if horde got a human adjacent race that wasnt a rotting corpse
naga i could potentially see but they would probably wind up being just scaly night-elves rather than actual true naga we see.
jinyu - i could also possibly see these or the ankoan (and was probably considered at one point instead of giving us diapergnomes)
mogu - i would actually play one of these if i could, as weâve seen with the rajani there are groups of them that arenât bloodthirsty and murderous saturday morning cartoon villains and there are female mogu among them as well
broken draenei - another one iâd probably play if i could and seems like it could actually happen with the developments between velen and hatuun. there are also independant/neutral tribes of them
forest trolls - it looks like weâre going to be buddying up with them at some point in the story of midnight. itâd be interesting to see where that all leads, considering the only thing they hate more than elves are humans
ethereals - i still have my fingers crossed for them being added in 11.2.5 or 11.2.7
Yeah there are a few High Elf people mixed in. But this has become a battle for the Ogres now.
Until they became mercenaries and helped Arthas (who at that time was still Alliance) before he betrayed them and had them murdered in cold blood. Ogres are more mercenary and freelancer at this point.
Your data does not show these numbers.
And
So the D&D link and the Baldurs Gate links are not even Warcraft at all. Then the other link you posted has ZERO Ogre information. If anything your probably more wrong than before. None of what you provided has merit. Also also I googled if Data - Azeroth is a official site and this was the response.
"No, Data for Azeroth is not an official Blizzard source. It is a fan-created website that utilizes information obtained through the Blizzard API to generate various World of Warcraft leaderboards and rankings, particularly popular among collectors.
While Blizzardâs API allows sites like Data for Azeroth to access game data, Blizzard is not directly responsible for the maintenance or accuracy of the information displayed on the site, as highlighted in the Data for Azeroth About section. "
So the fan created site with your information probably isnât fully accurate either.
Every time, and you still left off Murlocs. The fact that you could list so many races and still not include on of the most popular suggestions shows one reason why they wonât do it. In the words of the prophet Ricky Nelson, âYou canât please everyone, so youâve got to please yourself.â
Also, no Ogres until we actually see a male Ogre. Because in my canon, all the Ogres weâre seeing are females.
Every existing race people want have pre-existing lore that needs to be worked around. New races can be crafted into the story.
Where do you see any favorites of the player base? You never see more than a few hundred requests or maybe a thousand, asking for any one race, out of over a million players. Thatâs a fraction of 1% tops.
And that fraction of 1% thinks they speak for the playerbase?
Thatâs a mathematical estimate I made months ago. It isnât a statistic, it is literally just doing some basic math looking at how many visitors the site gets, how many people read threads, and then doing some basic number crunching comparing the number of visitors to the player estimates we have.
The point I made which is a well known fact that these statistics demonstrate is that monster races at all arenât popular when compared to more humanoid races. The more human, the more popular. In a fantasy context though, the more human but with a different âtraitâ that makes it fantasy-esque, itâll be more popular.
You are trying to argue against something we know for a fact. This is literally just basic psychology wherein we are more drawn towards the things that look appealing, and as a species the more human-something looks like the more appealing it is overall. Thereâs more to it, but this is a well-known fact within psychology and the statistics I showed you demonstrates how this is true for gaming overall as well.
Including WoW.
Ogres are unpopular because they are a race that doesnât fit with any of the criteria of what makes a fantasy race popular. If it were popular, then KulâTirans would be a more popular race ⌠but they arenât. You have had the facts laid out to demonstrate how you are wrong and Iâm explaining to you why these things work the way that they do.
You are an elf, who want to play another elf. This is a fact, am i wrong for saying that?
And when you said you play other races, i merely dismissed the discussion saying you sure do, whats the problem here? again, are you compensating for something? did i hit nerve?
Define heavily requested
Defione what is popular
Cause if are lying if you want to say furry elves are more requested than other races like ogres or etherals
Brother, ogres are part of the horde since the warcraft 3, for the entirity of warcraft existence they are good guys and allied with us
and you raise villains and i show you zandalari and dark irons who mostly were villains for all of wow lifetime.
Neither does the furry elves.
Your source is another game? lol
In the forums
I rather follow up hundreds or thousand of requests trough the years than a dozen from barely a few months.
Ogres are one of the most popular races to ever show in any warcraft pool, regardless of the place, reddit, twitter, official foruns, other foruns, their megathreads are the ones with most upvotes, what are you even talking about
And how do you explain orcs being one of the most playable race in warcraft? lmao
Again, you have more threads and upvotes in the ogre threads than any other race, facts go against what you say
We have no numbers on this. And Blizz doesnât go by what people ask for.
No one wants tiny Ogres or tiny Vrykul. If itâs not bipedal itâs not going to be a race. And they already tried the different rig that doesnât fit armor and didnât go over well.
The races listed are too problematic. Harronir are not. And were most likely planned way before we even saw the War Within cinematic.
