I’m genuinely curious…
…do people still do Torghast now, given it’s 100% optional?
Personally, when there’s no player power attached to an activity, I don’t bother to do it. What about everyone else?
Edit: After ~90 or so responses, it seems like a good mix of players who ignored it even when it was mandatory all the way to players who continue to engage in it with alts and for achievements. It’s nice to see a broad range and diversity of players!

Nope, didn’t even go back to do all the layers in the gauntlet that they added (or maybe I just missed when it was released).
Not even on alts.

I haven’t done Boreghast in a long time. I would be fine with never doing it again.

Not I, the only time I do Torghast now is for transmogs or if I feel like punishing myself.

I’ve gone back for Jailer’s Gauntlet, and have gone in to grab a legendary power or something on alts, but I never did do it that much.
I was going to send some embers to an alt the other day from my main and realized I couldn’t buy the BoA thingy because I had never done an 8 before if that tells you anything. lol So had to go do that just to unlock the vendor.
I want to say I do it, maybe once a month? I just did it a bunch to grind out materials for my druids legendaries. He got his second leggo,
Sometimes I get a wild hair, or sometimes there’s a calling for it.
ALSO, it is now the best way (for me) to rescue souls for alts working on their Covenant stuff, as well as for some toons I recently swapped into a new Covenant.
But because of the lack of rewards I actually want (I need the materials for leggos, but do I want them? Not really.) and the fact that Torghast is very dark and depressing to be in, I don’t spend THAT much time in there.
I’ve been going back through it trying to get achievements.
Not a big fan of how they do the shoulder mog rewards, since you have to spend phantasma to get them which means you have to save up and avoid buying powers, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll get one you need on the vendor at all. Kind of annoying.

Couple of days ago, just for a fun run.
Not unless I have to. For my alts, I typically have to do a run or two to get enough Soul Cinders. I prefer being able to get the max rank via ZM vendor though. It’s just a bit more time consuming.
Didn’t even do it when it wasn’t optional.

Yeah I did some jailers gauntlet, I like rewards for hard solo content. I’ll do the other achieves at some point too. I level in there sometimes whenever I do actually level
I like it more now that it’s optional. I did it in the first season too quite a bit but didn’t really like having to do it on my alts to get legendaries so they could feel mildly useful and fun to play.
I’m about to start working on Flawless 16s soon, hoping some of my friends will want to tag along because it’s fun to run with friends too.
I really enjoyed getting the mount last season. Doing JG on a Monk is kind of tough so far though.
I am currently doing the layer 12 flawless runs.
Another thing to add-on to the list of why Torghast sucks.
Definitely, what is enjoyable for me isn’t depend on if it gives me something for doing it, but if it is fun (I am playing a game to have fun after all). I have had fun doing it regardless of rewards before, and will continue to do so.
It’s a fairly minor gripe, I enjoy running Torghast.
Maybe to do it for Alts for Threads of fate…maybe
Sometimes I do it for the weekly. Got a bunch of alts that benefit from the currencies I can mail them to on different alts.
Still got some achievements to do so I still do it but I can’t say I do it as much as I would like, I do mythics more now with my wow time and sometimes that can be just waiting to get into a group on some characters.
I do it on alts it gives good exp per runs.
I would, if its design wasn’t still hampered by its initial attachment to player power. They kneecapped themselves by designing the system to cater to people that didn’t want to engage with it in the first place. Simply decoupling it now doesn’t do anything to change the compromised design after the fact.
