Is the questing bottom heavy? I’ve heard you have to grind mobs for 2-5 levels once you get up towards 60 due to lack of quests.
This is a myth stemming from our previous lack of information when it came to where and when there were quests at each level. There are more than enough quests to level from 1-60 in classic; however, most players, especially those trying to speed level or farming for mount gold will end up grinding a couple levels because of the efficiency that it provides. Typically I would expect to see grinding of mobs from 37-40 (for mount gold and speed) and from about 58-60 (speed and farming mats for crafted BoE pre-raid bis) but this is by no means required.
I don’t remember much about vanilla. One of the things I do remember Is that I did quests and I got to level 60 at the same time my friend got to level 57. I did quests, he hated questing, so he farmed npcs for experience. I never ran out of quests.
The old Loremaster in WotLK I think had Alliance at 750ish and Horde at 650ish? I cannot remember.
Needless to say, LOTS.
Really depends. If you only did solo questing and you never did any dungeons and you never kill anything other than what is related to your quest objectives then yeah.
Otherwise if you do a few dungeons and grind mobs along the way between quest objectives you’ll have enough quests.
Hiw many quests in Classic? Do I even need to say this?
Over 9000!
You beat me to it.
But no ,OP, you will not run out of quests. That was fixed by patch 1.12
The problem is the quests in vanilla were not in a very linear path. You’ll go from elwynn forest to west fall, and your quests will quickly get too high level for you to solo. So you can grind out a few levels and stay where u are at, or travel to other areas that have quests more level appropriate.
Elwynn to Dun Morogh to Westfall to Loch Modan, back to Westfall, Red Ridge, then Wetlands, back to Redridge, stop by Darkshire, back to Redridge
There are plenty of quests, you just have to jump around. And with the addition of Silithus, the 56-60 grind is no where near as bad before AQ was released.
I never ran out of quests on the way to 60. You’ll just have to really travel the world to get them is all. There are a few chains and class quests that take you around the world anyway, so you’ll be keeping a fuller quest log than you’d think.
My advice, make friends with a mage to cut travel time.
That is from 1.1 wow. 1.12 has tons of quests.
There where even more quests before Wrath, they removed some before the Cataclysm revamp for some reason, like the Tower of Azora chain and some of the parts to The Legend of Stalven which is now just a single quest after the Cataclysm revamp…
