Finishing Draneor with Tanaan Diplomat and I am never ever going back to this zone. They literally created an entire zone with nothing in it but 3 daily rep quests. I understand this was a WOD update, with likely a raid, but just, wow…
I’m juggling Legion and wasn’t Suramar an added update? There seems like a ton to do there.
So how many Tanaan Jungles am I looking at in the future? I can’t help but think they could of added 5 or 6 collect or kill quests at each flight master to nudge rep along
Suramar was a 110 only zone that shipped with the game. Tanaan was supposed to be a max level zone shipped with the game as well, but it got delayed.
There are no more zones strictly like Tanaan, but if you don’t like the black and green fel anesthetic…boy you are NOT gonna like Argus
Thanks for the reply. I don’t mind Tanaans look or layout and the music is fine. Good news that it’s really the only zone like it. The game should of told you up front though, you’re going to be killing 3 super cats in an arena for 3 weeks for their fel shards. Then your going to kill innocent families of raptors because that’s the fastest way to get teeth. Then were going to really annoy you by sending to various areas to do bonus objectives only to be incredibly delayed by 120 level characters swooping in from the skies to steal everything. Then were going to cross realm these areas to really pack the population and destroy any slim chance of you getting out of there in 30 minutes…
YOURE LEVEL 120 AND YOU ALREADY HAVE PATHFINDER COMPLETE. Wtf are you swarming these bonus objective areas for?
This can’t all be for the dumb corrupted bloodwing is it?
WoD had so much content cut from it, surprised blizzard even pulled that nonsense.
I did tanaan 46 times fully through, haha. Still don’t hate it, still do it on alts - it has a specific rep grind model that was more time-gated than true grind. I like that. And I like the 3 followers, the extra 500 in gar cache… so reworks work.
That is probably because WoD garrys are still useful. Unlike Argus, for example, since Legion is 100% useless now and all of that content is not worth doing ever again.
I think they are after the reputation tokens to sell for high prices on the AH.
But I don’t understand why you’re grinding for rep of pathfinder is account wide finished. What’s the point. I truly don’t know, not trying to be snarky
I’m sure that is exactly it, people will farm this sorta thing for years.
If you want something comparable to Tanaan, I’d say the Timeless Isle in Pandaria was pretty much the same. A few dailies and people yelling “Big Rare spawned coords xx,yy!”, followed 0.5 secs later by “Big Rare dead!”.
WoD had a ton of wasted potential that ended up dropped. Tanaan was intended to be in the game at launch, and ended up being the final zone added as an afterthought.
It’s worth doing for the Draenor Pathfinder achievement just to unlock for the alts, but yeah, otherwise skip it.
I still max out my garrison followers to 25, I use the 3 from tanaan, and I farm gar resources to trade for mats to make bags (yes, they still sell). I have made so, so, so much gold off the hexweave bag, it’s crazy. I also like the garrison as my hub, tmog, smith, bank, gbank, fast hearth…
Tanaan is only a few days to max rep, it’s just not a true grind, and super fast when your 120.
Unlike Legion, WoD is still useful.
Yah I agree I do like the Garrison. We’ll see how things go whenever I create my first alt.
If you didn’t play during that expansion, Tanaan was added later, sort of like the Timeless Isle. It was added as an activity where you entertain yourself repeating rare hunting.
Now that it’s old content, the purpose of the content is muted and less logical.
During WoD, you couldn’t access Tanaan until the very end of the expansion. There were quest lines to bust down the wall.
Blizzard doesn’t do the best job of making old content playable once an expansion has passed.
