I like dragon riding. That “like” could be transformed to “love” if they added a proper, unlimited hover option. The lack of it is my biggest complaint about the feature. You NEED to be able to lift up and hover for those moments you have to abruptly leave the key board. Game mechanics, FIRST, you know?
Having said that, I sympathize with the people who don’t like it, and I can think of no reason why the two systems cannot co-exist. The option to use classic flying should always be available, should dragon riding come to the rest of the game.

it is soooooo much faster. i dig that.
if i’d not been braindead placing my points, i’d already have the ability to pick flowers without dismounting. i’d be freakin’ golden right now! i can actually reach rares before
they are destroyed (eh, sometimes…)
Dragonriding for sure, not even a contest. I’m all for sky swimmers getting what they need for accessibility’s sake, but there should be some sort of human test every few hours if you are going to idle because botting gets worse each year.

If you are idle for a number of minutes it does disconnect you from the server. Bots are usually very active, but easy to spot. Because there will be one stuck on something and on wpvp you can kill one off and the rest just run crazy without a purpose.
They do ban waves for those. So if you see them, report them.

DR no doubt.
Even as a Druid with flight form… It feels like flying with training wheels now.
I’ve even had to double check on alts to make sure I’d bought the max speed.
Before trying it I didn’t think I would.
After trying it without maxing my glyphs I didn’t think I would.
Now I would.
Thanks. I played Lost Ark for awhile and even the most obvious bots didn’t get banned in a timely manner so I’m constantly looking over my shoulder. Classic didn’t help either, lol.
This is the key right here. If you play games to chill, you probably like regular flying more. If you play the game with more intensity, to win, to get the best gear, all that? You probably prefer dragon-riding.
Shout-out to the chill players. If you’ve ever just ridden your mount on a beach, flown over scenery just to take it in, danced on a mailbox, or if your favorite memories in WoW involve something terribly funny? You are my peeps.

I’ve really come to like dragon riding. Only change I’d make would be the ability to hover outside of combat without expending vigor.

Dragon riding is objectively better.
The real strength that “classic flying” has over dragon riding is that you could afk and alt tab while you’re waiting to get to your destination. Dragon riding is so fast and efficient that it pretty much eliminates the need to do so outright.

I am going to ask a question with all sincerity and with all the respect that the people who are participating in this debate deserve:
Would those who love Dragon riding mind that normal flying can still be used?
Let’s keep in mind that a normal flying mount has much less speed.

Why would literally anyone care that you could normal-fly? The devs are the only ones holding that away from you.
I wouldn’t mind. And that is a genuine good question.
Dragon riding seems to be specifically tailor made for dragon mounts as you twirl and tumble. Realistically, I am struggling to see how it would work for, say, flying unicorns or other non-dragon type flying mounts.
Them coexisting is probably the ideal, though it might feel clunkier that way.

Nah, I wouldn’t really care.
But I do think that Dragon riding has the added benefit of reducing the number of bots farming herbs & ore so I would hate to see that go away.

I ask because I have the slight feeling that some lovers of the new system want normal flight to be removed from the game forever, which doesn’t seem fair to those people who want to continue flying as they have been doing for more than 15 years.

Dragon riding. Anything that makes travel part of the game instead of something that makes me alt tab or go do something else is a win for me.
