I only have two major gripes about dragonriding.
It’s incredibly difficult to pinpoint landings, for example the explorer banners on some of those tiny peaks, or when I’m looking for a mining node on the side of a cliff and have no idea how high or low it is, I can’t hover around and look for it like I can on a regular flyer. Enabling regular flying mounts in DF zones, so we have both systems together, would completely eliminate these types of issues.
OR, and even better, add another ability to dragonriding where we can ‘pause’ in midair, which would lock our position and resource expenditures as long as we have that button toggled on, or held down. If you added something like that, we would have no need for traditional flying at all.
And dragonriding mounts are obviously limited, which means I don’t get to use any of the 400+ mounts in my collection. This is actually a minor gripe, but it would be neat if old flying mounts were incorporated into the dragonriding system.
Clearly, I would use (and do prefer, overall) dragonriding as my go-to form of travel right now. It’s simply faster to get around (and more fun), and slow travel has always been a problem in WoW. Little changes to the accessibility to the system would make it nearly perfect.

Dragonriding full-time, in a heartbeat
Going back to old zones feels terrible with the old flap-flap-flap mode of transport
IF they will incorporate all my flying mounts, I prefer DRing.
If not, screw that, I spent a lot of time and money on my mount collection.

I like the current system: have dragonriding in the short term until flying is unlocked.
Dragonriding really beats being stuck on ground mounts like we were in previous expansions, and I’m more likely to level alts before pathfinder is done and flying is available with dragonriding being available.
But even through I have all the dragonriding unlocks except the last one done at this point, there are still some times where I have to stop and wait for vigor to recharge, and that can be annoying. Being able to switch to regular flying instead of waiting would be nice.
It would be nice to have dragonriding available in non-DF content, though, because that speed is nice. And I’m hopeful that with dragonriding we won’t have any major content additions later in DF where were go back to being stuck on ground mounts, even temporarily. (Hooves crossed!)

100% would rather have dragonriding be the new flying mechanic.
I would like to use my old mounts though, so eventually making all mounts “dragonriding” mounts would be ideal.
Even then though, I’d rather do dragon riding than regular auto-run flying.
Yeah now that I’ve taken a week to get used to it, Dragon flying all the way. I wouldn’t look back.
If I had to pick only one, legacy flying.
Speed is nice but I prefer the utility of precise maneuvering and hovering more.
Hopefully we will have the option of both eventually.

The two types of flight can coexist perfectly.
But… if I could only choose one I don’t doubt it: LEGACY FLYING.
It took me too many years to get the phoenix and now I can’t use it?, in addition to my other 455 mounts.

If we could set fire to Flying and having Dragonriding only, I would do that in a heart beat. Travel is now more than just point-and-afk. While reaching tops of things with Dragonriding is by no means hard, it at least gives you a sense of participation versus just mouse-aiming up and hitting autorun until you’re at the top of something.
I’d say having both as an option in past content as well as current content would be the ultimate solution.

In addition, by keeping the two types of flight we would have more mounts.
New mounts for normal flight and new mounts for the new system.

Dragon riding any day. It’s amazing.

Yeah, everytime I have to fly to Uldaman I am reminded of how bad normal flying is.
