How many of you really want addons in Classic?

Yes, to yourself I believe.

I’m actually not sure what raiderio is to be honest, but gearscore is mostly meaningless since the best gear for your role/spec often times won’t be BiS gear in classic. I’ll be stacking spell crit on my Holy Paladin while many Ret Paladins will be forced to don the best cloth healing gear they can find and spam Flash 1 on the raid

Well said.

Addons? LIke…grid? or auctionator, or tidyplates, or atlasloot, or dbm?

Those are useful. I’d like those.

That argument doesn’t hold weight.

In vanilla the addons were just being made, the devs didn’t know what they would do with them, after the years, they shut down many holes they introduced and implemented a lot of them that are cores of the current game.

One of them being gearscore.

How exactly do you manage legit old school feel with todays current technologically enhanced super addons ?

I could play without them, wouldn’t be a big problem. But if others have them, I’m going to have them. Period. Even in PvE content, I am competing with the person next to me and behind me, and I am trying to maximize my contribution to the team.

If everyone is using them, I don’t see the issue. Level playing field for all.

WHy do you think they need to be non working for the first year? We have all played WoW vanilla, and its not a damn contest unless you make it one on how fast you level. I dont understand why you want to force your playstyle onto others. If you want things super hardcore then great. My first level 60 I managed to get without using a single addon so I would like it to be mildly less tedious for my old mind this time, how does that effect your gameplay?

This is my entire point.

If they let it go with current practices. This will just be a vanilla version of BFA with everyone having 445 addons that control every aspect of the game for them.

That isn’t what this was advertised to be…

What does what is going on in retail have to do with classic?

What happened to no changes? Authentic experience?

They are already nerfed compared to what they used to do.

Breaking all of them for some arbitrary amount of time is pointless.

Don’t want them? Don’t use them.

You might not have had any 15 years ago, but everyone else was.

If you let addons from BFA invade classic, you will have an earlier version of bfa, that is it.

It will no longer be classic.

What exactly are you not grasping here?

Don’t spread misinformation, blizz never shut down gearscore, they just added it to the game themselves making it obsolete

Dont use them! its not that friggin hard to understand. Good lord, my game play doesnt effect you at all in the slightest. Hell even with addons im sure I will be the last level 60 on my server.

I said they implemented gearscore.
ā€œthey introduced and implemented a lot of them that are cores of the current game.ā€

It isn’t mis information.

Sorry, misread the post as I’m stuck on my phone atm, you had been talking about closing holes prior to that

Someone should make a comprehensive list of add ons and break down the functions of them. Then we can debate each add on and see if it fits in the classic vanilla model. Does it play the game for you? Does it give you advantage over others if others do not have it? Things like that. I would do it but I have no idea about the inner workings of add ons really.

What does that have to do with you saying you are either for or against addons in classic?

Stop telling me what to do; I want to know if you feel addons should be left as is in retail for classic or not.

And why you feel that way, I didn’t ask for you to tell me to just not use them, that isn’t even in my main talking point.

Elorell(sp?) is an addon author and has been keeping close tabs on the Classic API.

I mean, does it really matter? We’re not getting back the super powerful addons of vanilla, everything else pales in comparison

QFT I totally agree.

I don’t think our opinions matter much here. As they are already in and working.
