How many of you have "headcannon" RP for your character even if you don't RP?

I’m curious.

I don’t, but I will say that I’ve said (in my head, to myself) “Regrowth” as I passed a car accident on the freeway…

I’ve done such things with characters in the other MMOs I play. In some of these cases I may have the intent to rp but I’m not going out of my way to find rp. I’ve got short backstories for several of my ESO characters, for example; a Khajiiti noble scion, an Orc of mixed ancestry, and two minor Dunmeri nobles at opposite political ends to name a few.

I find it fun to think about where my characters would fit in in the world, and how they ended up there even if I don’t RP with other people.

I have full backstories for a lot of them, even if I’m the only person who will ever know. It helps me connect to the characters more and enjoy/engage in the World of Azeroth.

A few include my former Nightbane Worgen who was one of the first to be “cured” on Raven Hill, albeit not perfectly. Still semi feral but trying to reconnect with society, he wound up as a mercenary/tracker for a number of years before being hired to help protect the Dragonscale expedition. He found himself a home and a sense of family in Iskaara, and protects the village from the Gnolls.

My Kul Tiran Survival Hunter, I pretend is a Vrykul. She was one of the last faithful Drekirjar, and she and her drake fled Hrydshal to Highmountain until help arrived in reclaiming Stormheim. She and her Drake are now trying to pick up the pieces and restore the Drekirjar to their true purpose, and keep the Old Ways alive.

My DH was lost and in search of a purpose after the Legion’s defeat. When Sabellian and the rest of the Outland Brood returned, she decided to help them rebuild and protect them from the Djaradin. She had a Netherwing companion once, but does not know what happened to her after she was captured by the Wardens. Helping Sabellian and his brood helps her sort through the grief of never knowing what happened to her friend.

Stuff like that. Having these stories also helps me come up with themes and ideas to give all my characters unique and fitting transmogs. You’d find all 3 I mentioned there are dressed for their part!

It adds a lot of depth for me, I love it.

I suck at RP. I always try and RP as some kind of spy or secret agent. Then I put myself in a position that I can’t tell anyone anything about my made up story. So I kinda c-block my RP with dedication to my RP.

Extensive. All characters are related or connected somehow, and have their own stories. Much in my head. Some written and illustrated.

Me. I have a running story in the back of my head for this character involving life prior to and during Gilneas’ wall, the curse, Gilneas’ fall, and where he’s been from there and onward. Same thing to one degree or another for my rogue, hunter and warrior. And will probably do the same for my monk when I can roll him. There is a Worgen Mage that I rolled and took through Exile’s Reach, but I can’t really get into making his story. It’s all part of the escape and part of the fun for me. :man_shrugging:
