Bottom line is that I’m kinda indifferent as I have no interest in the mount and I can see the points being made by both sides of the argument, but to state some objectivity:
Its the final patch of one of the lowest loved expansions to boot and they choose to alienate a part of the community on a mount that they asked the community to vote on for implementation that was the runner up.
Of course this was going to cause controversy and I just hope it wasn’t just engineered for some last minute token cash grab.
Looking for Raid. It’s weird…almost like raid is in the name.
I get people who do real organized raids look down on people like me who aren’t in a raid guild or don’t show up and do 15k on world bosses. LFR allows people like me to get a story out of it or push through LFR because some numpty in Blizzard felt our legendary pattern should only be found in a raid.
I get it, I’m not a real player because I don’t do real organized content or Mythic+ or even do arena.
Except most people I did Heroic with aren’t coming back for Season 4. So smaller group, missing important roles, and also it’s been a long time since we did Castle Nathria, I am sure people don’t remember every fight. Even normal mode sounds like a headache at this point. I want to relax, not relearn/reprogress etc
I think the mount is kinda whatever so I don’t really care but smart money is to put it in LFR. LFR saved raiding… taking away rewards isn’t going to push a significant amount of people into Normal. People don’t raid normal because they don’t like raiding. They tolerate LFR because they can just press a button to get into line.
I personally don’t care because I think it’s gross looking but I do feel really bad for the people that do want it and do care about it and that want to do it in LFR because LFR is a version of raiding according to Blizzard so it should be allowed in LFR difficultly as well as the other difficulties.
Me as far as I’m concerned it’s abliest and serious accessibility issue like don’t care how much Blizzard tries to force me to play the damn game how they want me too I refuse to ever run a raid on normal or higher and risk having a panic attack or worse because of my disabilities
it in no way to look down on ppl ive done some lfr to get some gear when i came back to the game i just think what lfr is giving is already enough it normal that normal+ get to have special stuff
Yet I heard in ff14 you can’t deny people from groups with third party site addons, anyone who signs up and is qualified can just get in the group. And there raids are designed in wings so you don’t have to commit yourself to a full clear.
LFR is the most accessible game mode that is similar in comparison.
I’m not angry. And while I’ve said before that nothing surprises me anymore, this was pretty over the top, especially the claim that they’re doing it to encourage charity groups to do free carries, just like in wod when it was 1 boss over many months and not every raid in the expansion over a period of a few.
They’re doing it to milk the casuals for carries who they already duped into pre-purchasing.
Expect to see more bait and switch like this in the future, with the obvious goal of milking casuals for carries.
I also expect casual content in 10.0 to be like that in season 4.
