How many more islands can we fit on Azeroth before it is too much?

I know a lot of us wants to return to Azeroth, me included but I feel the world map is being filled up… How many more undiscovered islands can we fit on the map before it is “too much”?

There’s a whole other side of the planet.

It turns out, Kalimdor and Eastern kingdoms are extremely small islands on super-world Azeroth

Not unless they retcon our planet spinning around in the sky of Argus.

Edited to put in all of the comments that were missed when people jumped to conclusions about what I’m saying and add in maps someone else shared to show how the planet currently looks:

There should be a whole other side of Azeroth that has yet been explored. Hopefully from 10.0 and onwards we get new continents on Azeroth exploring those regions.

And all the titan facilities with their colossal globes.

Really, though, there is a lot of leeway given the whole, “it’s just gamespace” argument. The actual islands could be shrunk down, at least on the map, leaving the continents more continental, while giving us more space (and sense) for more landmasses. Future islands should be kept small (again, just on the world map) to prevent the problem going further, but it is a potential solution.

If blizzard wanted to they can change the map and Azeroth so i wouldn’t be complaining about “How many”.

I’m not saying there’s not leeway. I’m saying there isn’t a whole other side of the map that’s blank, based on the spinning planet.

They can absolutely slightly move things for more. Including small continents instead of tiny islands. There just isn’t a blank side of the planet.

That’s one reason I like the Undermine idea. It’s not an island on the map. It’s underneath the map.

Kezan is the main entrance to undermine, and it’s already there.

Wish we had a never ending cave dungeon (not mythic mind you ).

Those pesky clouds block thy view

I never implied you were or did. Honestly, the whole idea…?

I’ll put it this way - the early 19th century of the Earth being hallow feels less farfetched than, “oh, there was an entire other half of the planet no one (not even the Titans!) knew about, or bothered to mention!” Ancient Greece had our world’s dimensions pretty well figured out, and you expect us to believe the civilization with access to interplanetary hyper-tech could miss 50% of their own world? …

It would take some next-level, truly insane, even for WarCraft levels of comic book WTFery to make that even start to pan out.

Six more islands and not one archipelago more.

I’m not sure what exactly you’re arguing for or against here. I responded to Cafe, who somehow believes the map is only half of the planet and then agreed with you on how there could be more areas. Now it sounds like you’re against that? I can’t tell. Your post is confusing.

Pandaria was shrouded in mists. The island above Northrend was hidden, as well.

It’s a fantasy game where magic can hide any islands or small continents if they want to.

Technically it is, since Azeroth is titled and only showing the Northern Hemisphere.

No it isn’t. Keep ignoring our planet from space, though— along with every single map shown in every single raid and dungeon. :+1:

I posted the image from in-game - and I watched it do a full rotation.

Keep spouting false information :+1:

Blizzard could take some real inspiration and look to the seas, under the sea to be exact. About 80% of our oceans have not been explored, if we treat Azeroth the same it could happen. If you combine it with magic then you can have underwater zones that are dry and hidden due to shields. When you think about what powers the dragon aspects have you could get into some really interesting lore behind what makes those zones work and the balance needed to maintain them.
