I think next week we push the passive sanity loss buff from 60% to 90% at that point all you’re really losing sanity to is missing abilities so I’ll wait for that
She makes them about twice as tough, and don’t think she does the whole stealth thing well. She either charges the first thing she sees or dies somewhere. Not a huge fan.
I just go in as BM which does everything I need for solo survival.
Just outside of Mage District. There’s a wanted poster right by the gateway to Mage District, clicking that summons Hogger. The other Nemesis shard for the mask will be in Orgrimmar, from Gamon, I believe in the Broken Tusk Inn, which is right near the start of Orgrimmar.
Then the final two masks will be from clearing the hard districts of Orgrimmar with 1 mask, just like with the Old Town and Mage District masks of SW
I killed all trash, the beast in the water, the gnome, and all the pimples, though i don’t think they are needed. I also went inside the building in Cathedral district near the path to Dwarven, where a bunch of spirits spawn to kill you, and inside the tavern in Old Town, where killing all the trash inside makes the bartender go hostile. I combed the canals, killing everything red, including the trash pack that guards one of the masks, and the wine vendor at the end of the canals between Trade and Mage. That was enough to get the Multitudes mask.
I did not kill Hogger, any of the mailbox or trash piles mobs, the horseshoe rare, the gryphon rare, and i did not go in the dwarven district house that has mines in it (the door was closed but iirc that just meant it spawned in another house or something)
If you’re going for the Multitude mask, AoE builds are real handy. Most of the mobs by themselves aren’t that strong, so my BM AoE build cleaved through them no problem. Bosses are a bit slower but that’s offset by my pets being able to attack through Chains of Servitude and such. They also break the ice spell thing when they waddle to Magister which is a huge benefit.
Outside of that, burning elites, identifying Sanity pots and being as speedy as you can is always key.
I haven’t killed “everything” apparently - just all the obvious stuff that’s in your way. I didn’t even know about some of the things mentioned in the post that responded to mine.
I got out with a little under half a sanity bar left. I would never have had time to go hunting for all that stuff. You probably need better familiarity with the instances than I currently have.
But aside from that, it’s just efficient pathing and AoEing stuff down… and probably selecting the right mask for you. I figure the one that buffs enemies’ damage when you kill other mobs near it is the right one, as I haven’t found “dying” to be a problem at all. I assume it’d be the same for ret. Oh, also avoiding sanity drains. I still find it hard to beat the guy with the eyeballs without losing a bunch of sanity.
I have not been able to do a good job of this. The instances are dark and it’s hard to see these. I also don’t know the right colors by heart. Any tips on that?
At the start of both Stormwind and Org there is a NPC. For Stormwind it’s a guy in a vest who is dead with a colored potion next to him, straight ahead from the start at the wall. That potion is bad, -100 Sanity. Avoid it like the plague.
That means all but that color will be at least a positive effect, and one will be +100 Sanity. The buffs can be handy but bear in mind they all do a CC upon expiration, some more dire than others. Picking up a buff pot will extend the duration dramatically, so if you can refresh it it’s a non-issue.
Wowhead has a guide signifying what color is the good pot depending on what the bad pot is, but I don’t have that on hand.
Maybe? I did it with one mask and it gave it to me. I’d throw something like Imagination on just to be safe.
Sanity management is key. First, equip a mask that is easy for you. I used the mask that makes mobs buff each other when they die, with 1 mask that’s super negligible for me, but it’s your choice. Use an AoE build for speed clearing.
At the start of the vision, there’s a corpse in a corner with a highlighted letter and a potion next to him. That potion is always the bad potion. Make a mental note and use other potions. You definitely want to identify the +100 sanity potion.
Farm elites always, even when not going for Multitudes. Elite Extermination will give 50/100/150 sanity per elite killed.
Plan a path. I go dwarf → old town → trade → mage. I’d usually portal back after old town but since you need to clear all of old town and the canals too for Multitudes you might as well take the exit out.
Ration your orbs to use as late as possible and try to ensure at least half of its duration is spent out of combat, because the orb is half as effective while in combat so for a full sanity restore you’ll need a significant amount of it to be out of combat.
IDK how you guys are clearing at this point in time. Most I can do is 3 zones before running out of sanity. And that’s with potions and hour glass upgrades and no NPC.
Colours are always random. At the start of every run, in a corner of Cath, there’s a corpse with a highlighted letter and a potion next to him. That potion is always the bad potion. Remember that one. Other potions are just try them and see, but none of them will be harmful (beyond an annoying short debuff when it expires).
As for finding them, they are always tucked away in corners and sometimes behind stuff, but they sparkle. Just watch the walls as you go. You’ll start recognizing common spawn locations
That smelly dragon said he can’t give me any more upgrades yet but he will later so I’ll just wait until later when I have the upgrades before I do them. I remember in BFA having all the upgrades made 5 mask much much easier, I imagine it’s the same here.
