See title, just curious. I’ve killed him 12 times on heroic and got a ton of the lesser embers… Still no leggo. I don’t believe the drop rate of the axe is advertised and I don’t think the % chance the embers add is advertised either… If they are I have not found that information on wowhead or a simple google search. How many times did you kill heroic+ Fyrakk before you got the personal loot leggo?

Still don’t have it after eight Heroic kills.
I think 7 on my main.
Blizzard has never advertised the % drop chance of anything other than to say something is guaranteed.

This is why I never went after it.
RNG is just a shortcut over meaningful game design.

I think players would be happier knowing you could get the weapon in 8 weeks, than 8 + ??? weeks.

I don’t know how covenants are related to Blizzard never stating the % drop of anything, ever.
So shopping list gearing is “meaningful” in your mind?
It’s a better guarantee than a lottery roll.
Plus you get stuck with a shopping list anyway if you want the weapon proper.

They are both flawed systems that could have been easily and quickly fixed if not for blizzard refusing to do so. In this case the fix is having a deterministic route even if incredibly difficult that allowed a dedicated player to have it in time for the legendary’s relevancy period. Covenants were another system with a great deal of outcry that had a fairly simple fix available, ie enabling swapping.
I agree the quest grind is pretty stupid requiring rares and superblooms.
To me pretty much any pure grind is awful. Especially reps that are pure mob grinds, the worst (to me).
Grinds aside if you had to make the decision between a guarantee or RNG, that guarantee is option is going to look more attractive once you start going past 8 weeks.

This assumes it’s intentional for everyone capable of wielding the axe to have it during this season.
Which doesn’t align with any role specific legendary ever, which is part of why it’s so weird to me people are so upset that a role based legendary is rare like every other role based legendary.
And I don’t have it yet on my DK.
It won’t drop for me, but that’s cuz I don’t play a DK, pally, or warrior. I don’t miss slogging through kills for a ridiculously rare drop.
I don’t think everyone, but I would say that if someone is pushing keys/raid/pvp at this point in the season and they still don’t have the legendary despite killing fyrakk once a week all season they have been wronged by this system. I don’t like seeing mount rng on significant performance boosting items it just creates an easy recipe for bad vibes in farm.
I don’t think they need to be mailboxed to every player of those classes either, but I do think part of why fated season in shadowlands was well recieved was that rogues got their daggers and everyone who could hammer had a jailer mace, and both of those items were just purple legendary items especially when compared to the actual hunter legendary at the time. I would also argue that role legendaries had a long leave of absence for a reason, and in their current state have no place in a seasonal world of warcraft unless they rethink aquisition.
Also having played evoker last patch if they do another one for the class I plan to main, I’m outright swapping to something else. I don’t want to gamble with my enjoyment of the game.

11th kill on heroic for me. The questline took me a two days to finish
