We all know that blizzard ban a million bots a minute with their crack team of hunters but has anyone heard of a buyer being banned? You know, those players that created the market.
There was a recent AMA on the wow classic Reddit where a botter literally told everyone in the thread that being banned was a minor inconvenience and they would have a new bot account up and running in about 15 mins.
There is no way we would know that information. That would be private between the user and Blizzard. Botters getting back up is easy because they know how to game the system. The average player that got banned does not.
It’s also safer to just go after botters than players because a banned player might not resub and that’s a net loss for the company each time. The botter has deeper pockets and motivations to keep going.
Not convinced the Ama guy was legit. I asked him some specific questions about botting and his answers were SUPER vague. Pretty sure he was just farming karma…
Getting banned is only an inconvenience when it only happens infrequently. If they did it more consistently it would start to actually hit their bottom line
