If true, that’s a kick in the face for heroic raiders.
It’s taking me forever to save earn enough crests to upgrade my weapon using Delves and Raids. I do not want to be forced into M+. I hate them with a passion. If anything, M+ should be forced into Raids for Gilded crests, not the other way around.

Crests have unfortunately always been primarily a mythic+ driven currency.
M+ at 8 and higher is harder than any heroic fight except queen, which gives more crests.
At least they made the improvement of getting 30 gilded crests for the last 2 bosses of heroic raid. You used to get 0 equivalent crests for heroic raid.
Keystone players already forced into raid for mythic track otherwise we only get vault pieces.
I’ll take my chances in a +8 pug over any heroic pug for brood/princess/court/queen no question.
And those also have a lockout, you can’t spam them for 900 gilded crests (or whatever the cap is at now).
I really feel like if you’re behind the curve late in the season there should be some significant catch up mechanisms in place. I grinded up to 900 on one character last few weeks and am working on another now. It’s an incredibly brutal grind to catch up and extraordinarily mind numbing.
edit: I am referring to gilded crests. I graduated past runed harbingers a while ago on each character.
There is but only for alts (and the version of that for gilded crests actually has a crazy restriction on it)
Only works if you have every slot at 639. My alt is not getting any sort of catchup currently.
Just do T8 delve like 6 times, they drop 2 each. oh gilded nvm
It’s 3 Gilded per map and you get 1 map every 8 weeks or something.
That’s true but even just getting the discount on Runed crests is very helpful
Good news, you can 60 gilded crests a week in heroic raid right now for half the investment it takes in M+.
Leaves you with 3 M+8/week. Imagine being a Mythic+ only player and just not being able to get the best rings, trinkets and weapons in the game!

It is yeah. It’s 5 per upgrade too. I really don’t think either system should work the way it does currently. My personal opinion is it should be based off the number of crests earned – if you’ve pushed to the limit currently the alts should get more until they reach the same limit. It doesn’t have to be a huge amount more, but even an extra 2 or 3 would go a long ways.
It’s so terribly slow
If we got like 3-5 per 9-11 delve even that’d be tolerable
but 3 per map is actual madness, it’s like having 5 rep for a world quest
I agree with you as I recently switched mains and I’m still in the low 800s on this char… it’s been pretty brutal some days, I just can’t bring myself to play, so I don’t.
Raids should just drop more reasonable numbers of crests imo.
