When I played WTLK, I think you could only have a single gathering profession or I think you could only track herbs or ores. Does that still stand or can you have both?
You can have both you just can’t track both at the same time, you can just turn off and on track herbs / Track ore though it works out well enough if you make it.
You can have up to 2 gatherine primary professions, and all of the secondary profressions (I think only fishing counts here).
However, For the tracking abilities, you can only track one at a time. Back then I used a macro to switch between mining and herbalism as I ran along(constantly pressing that macro button). Though I’ll note that fishing and skinning do not offer a tracking option.
Gathering is actually a horrible money making method in classic I suggest you farm cloth
During WotLK you could have two gathering professions. However, you could only track one at a time. ie: You could have Mining and Herbalism but you could only track Herbs or Mineral Nodes on the mini-map.
Having two gathering professions will certainly help you earn some coin.
This was where gathering addons came into play, they would keep track of where you last found nodes
Guaranteed there will be 100 gatherers per node until the disappointment sets in server wide, when there will only be 10 per node.
It will help in the long run, but it’s going to take some time for there to be enough gold in the economy where gathering alone is going to be lucrative. In the beginning most people will be saving up for an epic mount rather than buying raw materials on the AH to level a profession. So finished goods are going to do better than raw materials. The outlier her is cloth since it’s needed for leveling first aid and making bandages which will be immediately needed.
