Even if maintenance was 8h every week, it’s ~34h / month out of 730.

You’re assuming that maintenance cost isn’t already discounted in the sub price, which hasn’t increased in 20 years, for you guys in the US at least.
It used to be 8h/week EVERY week.

Expansion pre-patch? Yeah. It will take a while. Only time I remember compensation is the Burning Crusade release when things went sideways for about 36 hours.
