I hope to have my epic mount by phase 2, and lvl my alt to 60 by the end of phase 2 or middle of it.

No rush for me.
Family and responsibilities.
Gonna play as much as I can. depends how much time i get daily.
Back when I was single, i would have played 18/7 and got to the end right quick.
But those are days long gone.
Well seeing as Paladins and Warlocks will not be able to get their Class epic mounts at 60 during phase 1, they may wait until later phases when they can complete them instead of throwing 1k gold at a standard epic mount.
as a warlock, have to wait till after phase 1 to get my epic mount. Plan to have an alt by phase 2 or so. hopefully. i want to establish some income and put some time to farm gear before i start leveling an alt though
Alt will be slow going as that will be the char i play with the wife. Epic mount maybe by phase 2. Ill be happy with the 60% mount for awhile.
Probably 1 week after hitting lvl 60.
Getting gold isnt really that hard. It’s just really easy to spend it on shiny things.
You can’t get class mounts without dire maul. You’ll be buying a regular epic if you want one before then. But that’s not the best part. Since they’re using the 10% training 90% item costs, guess what, you’re going to be funding a whole 2nd epic if you buy one now, then do the quest later. If you really want that dreadsteed, what you should do is gather the materials in advance then wait it out.
as fast as possible for the epic mount. Alt to 60 will be something done during downtime, when i have nothing else to do
I remember my first epic mount in vanilla took forever and a day to get. I’d like to think i am more knowledgeable these days, so hoping to knock that out within a few weeks.
But who knows what the economy is going to be like, may take longer
3 months is generally the rule of thumb harhar
Hopefully faster then it did back in the day. I didn’t get my epic till BC came out last time.
I hit rank 11 to get my epic mount for free. It would have been much easier to grind the gold.
We will see what happens this time.
Aiming for 3x 60s raid ready, with epic mounts, 7 capped professions (4th toon only leveling on pure rested), and working on or already having the gold for the lock’s epic mount quest (prepping for when the quest is added in p2) by the end of two months. We’ll see how close I actually get, since that’s a super optimistic outlook.
More realistic outlook would probably be 3 months for all the above.
As for directly answering the question I won’t get my first epic mount for a while. Leveling the alts and then their professions takes precedence. I don’t really care about an epic mount before the honor system is implemented, and if need be I can skip it entirely on my lock until p2/the quest one. My rogue will be my primary farming toon so none of the other things need to worry too much about being run down by an epic mount out in the world, and my rogue can just dismount and stealth off if it’s being pursued by anyone it can’t outrun.
P2, when wpvp starts counting however, all toons are require it to be competitive in the world pvp bloodbath.
Depends on a few things, if my gold-making methods work then I hope to have epic mount by end of phase 1 or early phase 2. If my first gold plan doesn’t then it will take a bit longer but would still be phase 2 at some point.
Alts depend on how gearing for our first raids go. I’ll probably start my first alt soon after my main hits 60 and level it during downtime.
I definitely want both my planned raiding alts 60 and geared by ZG, which I’m imagining is about a year after launch.
I’ll be playing a paladin and I’ve gone back and forth with this in my head, and I’m still not sure.
Obviously getting an epic mount sooner ather than later is best. Helps grind gold for raiding needs, helps chase down plebs in wPvP, it’s a status symbol, it really makes the game more enjoyable when cruising around, etc.
However paladins get roughly 50-60% off the cost of their epic mount because they have the class mount quest at L60. It should be out in p2. Why waste 1,000 gold on a mount in P1 when you can get it for half that in p2?
I’ll likely see how hard gold farming is. If servers are all crazy full, you’re seeing daily queues throughout P1 and heading into p2, then it will likely be in my best interest to save my gold and wait for p, even if I am able to attain 1,000 gold before P1 is over. I hope to get my mount as soon as possible, but I’ll likely play it by ear.
I will get my epic mount for free soon after the release of battlegrounds.
Alt to 60? Several months. Maybe 1 year.
If i’m honest, i dont plan to bother with an epic mount until i just happen to have the gold. regular mount is a different story.
Having said that i do plan to be actively working at making gold for things like that, just not a priority over things like attunements and certain reps.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
I’m in no hurry to get one but I do want one someday.
That’s another highlighted aspect of Classic. You feel very accomplished acquiring your epic mount. Today, getting 300 riding is nothing considering how many have enough gold to buy it on several alts.
Let’s pretend I can get 10 silver per mob.
1000/0.1=10,000 mobs
Let’s pretend it takes 20 seconds to kill a mob.
20*10,000=200,000
200,000/60=3333 hours
Let’s pretend it takes on average 10 seconds to find another mob. More like 30, w/E.
9,999*10=99,999
99,990/60=1666.5 hours
4999.5 hours
208 days
Let’s argue about math
I hope to have enough gold made by the time I hit 60 to buy the epic mount. As for how long it’ll take to get there? No idea.
All mounts are 900g.
Im pretty sure if you unlock the pvp mount at R11 it will still cost 900g since you buy it from a vendor.
