How long will it take Dad gamers to reach 60?

On a pvp server?

Sweaty players with leveling routes and groups will see sub 100 hours.

Sweaty players with just one of those will see around 150+ hours.

Clean players but with good preparations will see around 200+ hours.

Clean players going with what they feel will see around 300+ hours.

Given that the personal towards the top of this comment are also going to be playing 8-10x more than others, it’s going to consist of the top players dinging 60 week 1 while the most committed clean players with only good intentions probably won’t see max level until towards AQ/Naxx.

This literally has never happened on any fresh server ever.

Leveling takes some good time but it is not EverQuest bro

30 days max for the ultra casual.

And I am not talking /played… I am talking maximum 30 days from the day the server goes live until they’re 60 and in pre-raid gear.

Getting to 60 on Era is really easy, getting pre-raid is very easy. There is literally zero reason to PVP for gear other than you want too.

There is no reason to do anything in Era unless you really want too.

You highly underestimate the casualness of some players my dude.

My guy, these types of players are in a category so small it’s not even worth mentioning.

The term casual is used so recklessly that it barely has meaning anymore.

You’re out of touch if you think any meaningfully sized subset of players are going to take 6 months to level.

From my experience most classic wow players play this game with rvery bit of free time they have unless they are raid logging - especially on a fresh server and I have been a fresh rider for 10 years. It’s always the same story and never changes

So everyone is pumped for Classic Classic Vanilla and aren’t using it as a stepping stone to TBC?

That is a pretty defined lens you have there.

I never said that, you did.

That’s just the way it always is. I don’t have any reason to “make things up”

This going into tbc will actually promote player retention in an otherwise dropping p5-6 like it usually does. Instead of just quitting people will just level up TBC alts and gear all of them for tbc drop.

The amount of people who will just “wait to start leveling right before tbc” is smaller than you think it is. Sure some people will do that, most people will just play the game

Sometimes you should realize your lens and the way you see things isn’t always the reality of the situation.

There will still be some brand new players for the first time trying their hand.

Bout tree fitty.

It’s the majority of it, yes.

These “6 month levelers” are not going to be as prevalent as you claim, no. It’s not reality and I’m not sure why you’re trying to speak it into existence.

Yeah of course. That doesn’t mean they’re gonna take 6 months to level. Hell when I was in high school vanilla came out. I managed to get 60 while going to school and wrestling practice/matches in like 2 and a half months

I’m not sure why you are trying to make a big deal about this. It’s not going to be a noticeable thing at all

Why are you getting so upset about the idea that there are newer players to WoW?

And no, people won’t be leveling much past 6 months if the cadence of content is too fast. They’ll quit before then.

That’s why I made the distinction in the initial comment.

Yes :expressionless: nobody cares about TBC outside a vocal minority dude

What makes you think I am upset? We are having a simple conversation.

Maybe, there is no surefire way to tell.

Because you asked if I was, I took it as you projecting.

Not with a lens no. Have you ever played this game with someone who has never really played video games before?

I said I didn’t know why you were trying to speak a scenario into existence that you cannot prove. I never in any of my post asked if you were mad.

Yes. Back then, and also now

However, it is pretty common knowledge that World of Warcraft on a grand scale doesn’t seem to bring in new players much at all - very little. Because there are just too many other games and options now. There is decent competition unlike when wow was in its untouchable prime. You have FF MMO, New world, thrones, and ashes that are making a footprint now

That goes for both retail and classic. I’m not saying they don’t get new players, but wow has been recycling the same base for over a decade now. People leave come back etc. most new people probably came in with 2019 classic on its launch, who weren’t playing retail. But most of those players quit wow long ago.

By now most people know how blizzard markets its games. In a completely seasonal manner

Im retired now so eat my dust

You gotta think of it like this.

Prob 3/4 of players will never even hit 60. It’s a large time commitment, and while we love classic wow - it can definitely be tedious/monotonous/boring etc at times.

I think most serious players will be 60 within 2-3 weeks. But that’s a very small portion of the population. Players will continue to slowly level up for the next few months.

That’s serious players. Majority of players/dad gamers it will take a few months or some maybe more, especially if they play other games as well. Like for me I main retail for pvp. I like to level on classic occasionally in between que times. I’ve played this game for 17 years. Never did a full 1-60 vanilla just because of the time commitment.

A lot of players with lives and/or play other games/versions of WoW it will take a long time to hit 60 or if ever.

You guys got me pretty down on the leveling time. I may just end up hiring a Russian to level for me tbh.

My wife actually wants to play again, and I was thinking her as a shaman and me warrior, make her get windfury totem

Will that be a pretty fast leveling duo?
