How long until I can sim which Covenant will be my BIS?

I really can’t wait to be disappointed that my favorite Covenant aesthetically and lore-wise is actually the worst DPS upgrade for my class

Keep an eye on Icy-Veins, but I don’t think you’ll see BiS until beta goes live honestly.

Edit: Oh you’re trolling, my bad.

Hey, that’s what rpgs are about; choices and now this is a distinct sentence. You can choose to have BiS or you can choose to have something you like.

Is that how you use a semicolon? I tried my best.

You realize this probably won’t be a reality, right?

Look at races, for example. You can roll an undead, but through min/maxing, you won’t get the best race for raiding. Is Blizz fixing that? No.

Let me ask you: do you know the difference in damage when you use your worst essence for your spec compared to your best one?

You should. It’s a big difference. That’s how these abilities are probably going to work in their current form. So until Conduits come out and (maybe) fix the abilities… this will likely be our reality.

What does this have to do with anything?

That’s how Covenant abilities are. Isn’t it obvious?

I meant the reality isn’t changing as far as Blizz making Covenant abilities more balanced because people like aesthetics over min/maxing.

The game is an RPG first and a spreadsheet simulator never.

Sad that people turn it into that.

Well if the recent polls are anything to go by… they will have an impact and people will value the better ability

Since when do polls direct management decisions? lol…

The point is that they should. That’s why you put a poll out.

Are you a hardcore Mythic prog raider or joining a top guild for a World’s First Race? Because if you aren’t you might want to just pick whichever one you like.

…and OP your toon needs to go back and gear in Legion before you try BFA.

Don’t worry about covenants either. You’ll still be bad with “highest DPS” option.

They’ve had petitions before to Blizzard with plenty of signatures to change things in the game. Blizzard didn’t comply.

Keep calling it an “RPG” all you like, but it’s already an RPG without tying these class abilities to an aesthetic/RP choice.

I mean I will.

…it’s literally an MMORPG.

This.

Unless your guild is a serious competitor to the top, complete min/maxing will likely not be the reason for your roadblock.

Where are you going with this? The topic of discussion is about unbalanced covenant abilities that will put pressure on people to join a specific Covenant. You claim it won’t happen because people will pick aesthetic. I showed you the poll in which Venthyr and Night Fae obliterated the polls because, surprise, their Signature ability is really good.

Not quite. Semicolons separate two distinct sentences or phrases; they can be a standin for a conjunction in this way. In your example, it would be better served by a regular colon or a dash:
