How long to get the renown rewards from Plunderstorm?

Bliz said it’ll take 4-5 ish matches to get 1 renown level. They also said it’ll be ‘quick’

So, that is up to 160-200 matches to get all the rewards across 40 renown levels. With 10-15 minute matches that means up to 50 hours of playing this mode to get the renown rewards. Plus, of course, queue time.

This doesn’t seem quick and casual at all.

Their blue post says, "We’ve got a ton of intentionally pirate-themed rewards coming. There’s 40 Renown levels that you can get with the Keg Leg’s Crew, which seems like a lot, but you’re gonna zip through them real quick - We want this event to feel super rewarding, so expect a Renown level after 4 or so matches, or at least one Renown level a day for even the most casual of players.

Every Renown level you obtain has a reward associated with them"

Well at least initially, everyone will be queuing this up, so waiting for a match shouldn’t be too bad.

the average reknown gain is 500 per match, the amount needed per reknown level is 2,500. The average match lasts 10-15 mins. You’ll need about 26-30 hours to get the entire thing finished.

I assume it’ll be faster if you stay alive for longer, level up, and collect more loot.

It is. lol

Source?

saw someone going into more detail about it on the wow subreddit, will have to find it again.

For a limited time event…
Better put in ~10 hours per week or you might miss out.

And what I wanted a source for was the 500 Renown gain per match. Reading is very hard for people today…

EDIT: Found the source, a PCGamer interview:

Each Renown level takes 2,500 plunder, with most matches awarding ~500.

they will look at community response and decide whether it should stay or not

they only say limited time to get people playing

They said a casual player should be able to get 1 renown level a day. I’m probably only going to do 1 or 2 matches a day, if that. So, I suspect I’ll only be getting 0.5 renown levels a day.

Huh - I guess it’ll depend on what titles, pets, and rewards there are.

yeah the source i saw said the video, but i didn’t think he would be happy with just that answer so i’m watching the video to find the exact time to give to him.

Although no end date is explicitly given, there are several mentions of a 6-week time frame, suggesting the game mode will end around the beginning of May.

The World of Warcraft official video said ten to fifteen minutes per match, but nothing really more. The interview says five to eight minutes.

The post only says “Several Weeks” right now, so there’s no definitive time.

You do 20 on the forums ranting

I might be blind, but I could have sworn I didn’t hear the end date on this event?

If the event goes until pre-patch for TWW, I think that’s plenty of time to get everything, but if it’s a month, or a few weeks…

Yeah - meant to say - depends on what titles, pets, and rewards are unlocked at which renown levels.

the best stuff is always last
