How long should it take to unlock Argus?

edit:

Previous:

I’ve been doing quests in Legion content for awhile since the “how to” of unlocking it wasn’t clear either in game or on websites, but I’m getting the feeling as I quest in Suramar and Highmountin that I’m not doing this in anything remotely resembling efficiency.

All I want to do is unlock the ARs, then go back for PF. Is there a numerical list somewhere that’s direct?

Assuming PF is pathfinder:

This is the guide to unlocking Argus:

From the guide that was posted:

Patch 7.2’s Broken Shore Intro Scenario is an Account-level requirement to begin the campaign of Argus.

To unlock [!Assault on Broken Shore] your character needs to hit level 110 then head to the Violet Citadel in Dalaran and complete the quest [!Uniting the Isles] offered by Archmage Khadgar.

Then head to Krasus’ Landing and complete [! Armies of Legionfall].

Since the completion of the Broken Shore scenario is Account-wide you need only one character on your account to complete it, then the rest of your characters can skip it by choose Khadgar’s gossip option: " I’ve heard this tale before… ".

Once you complete the [!Assault on Broken Shore] quest, the Argus intro quest [!The Hand of Fate] should be offered automatically.

One final question (hopefully). After reading a ton of other complaints on this issue, it seems I should be checking with the Khadgar on the Broken Shore for Hand of Fate, not in the Violet Citadel - does that sound right? or no?

This confused the hell out of me and took me several hours to figure out.

You actually do have to talk to him in the Violet Hold for a couple of quests, I don’t recall if Hand of Fate is one of them (I think it is, but I don’t want to mislead you), but you do kind of just have to go find him at one point to get it to progress.

I guess it’s on me for having an alt who started the quests and never did anything with them, but whew.

I’m glad it’s not just me. I have world quests, so I’m going to assume I’m on the Hand of Fate chain (since neither Khadgar offers it) but I read elsewhere you need to have completed some non-Khadgar related things in order to get it.

If nothing else, Blizzard should be made keenly aware of what it’s like to do this crap as a returning player. A perspective that must certainly lack.

Here’s how it works for me when I unlock Argus:

  1. First talk to Khadgar to get the Broken Shore intro.
  2. Unlock Broken Shore by either completing the scenario or skipping the scenario.
  3. Log out, log back in.
  4. Head back to Dalaran and pick up intro quest for Argus.

Unless something has changed in the past couple of patches, you shouldn’t need to do anything else.

Thanks for posting. Appreciate the feedback. If I could ask you/the room one or two more questions. I’m trying to pin point the problem.

  1. I have world quests. I’m told that means I’ve finished the Broken Shore scenario. Can I confirm that this is accurate?

  2. I’m looking at the Hand of Fate quest chain, which seems to be:

  • The Hand of Fate
  • Two If By Sea
  • Light’s Exodus
  • The Vindicaar

Seeing as I don’t have any of those quests currently, I can only conclude one of two things is true: Either I have finished the BS scenario and have not start HoF, or I’ve finished both.

Is there any room in this for additional outcomes?

The world quests you have are on Broken Shore, yes? You go there and all of the NPCs are at the base? If so, then you’re fine there.

If you have any Broken Shore related quests in your log, I’d suggest dropping them.

You also mentioned Suramar. How far into the zone are you?

Unclear. I don’t know how to measure distance, mostly, but I’ve mindlessly quested there to some degree so let’s say midway? I’ve done the weird little quest where you restart the power grid with arcane lines by adjusting mirrors.

Mkay. So you’re far enough in that getting quests from Khadgar isn’t an issue.

Here is Blizzard’s article to help with Hand of Fate:

Make sure you check to see if you have those achievements.

I miss Legion.

Thanks! OK it’s definitely a rep thing I’m locked behind because I’m neutral with a lot of the faction for Uniting the Isle. At least I have a direction now.

I’ll try to send you some in-game gold for the help. Or bags if you need bags.

Oh you’re fine. I don’t need presents for helping out. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m just glad we could find you some answers!

I got friendly with each of the factions I was supposed to and the quest is still not being offered, so now I’m wondering what else I can knock off the to-do list to move this forward, here are some suggestions:

  1. none of the buildings on the broken shore are complete (mage tower, etc.)
  2. I have 3 quests for the “Legionfall Campaign” which normally I’d assume is the problem, but one of them is “Defeat Kiljaden” - that seems like a raid thing. Is a raid required to unlock Argus?

Luckily, its not!

Do you know if the Legionfall Campaign is required? Apologies for the stupid question but this retroactive crap is not clear in the slightest.

I can’t seem to make heads or tails from those guides either. Sorry man.

I don’t think the whole campaign is required. just arriving there should have triggered the quest popping up back on dalaran.

As this says.

If I recall correctly. Hand of Fate sends you to the Exodar. Maybe you had accepted it already at some point. You could try going there on your own.
