I’m trying to back out when there will be something new to play with. If we are generous and assume a November 1 drop date does that mean Sept 1 pre-patch?
prepatch is usually 2-3 weeks before launch
Plan on up to a month. No more.
I think we’d be extremely generous if we assumed November.

Bad joke is bad.
Blizzard said it was “on schedule”, with their usual release date being in time for Thanksgiving.
If I recall, Burning Crusade was the “late” one and was not until January? (
Releases:
Wow November 23 2004 (original game)
Burning January 16, 2007
Wrath November 13, 2008
Cata December 7, 2010
Mists September 25, 2012,
Warlords November 13, 2014
Legion (seems like way early? Or really late? ) August 30, 2016
BFA August 14, 2018 (so maybe they started getting early, for those.)
People would be surprised if SL was still August something…
WoW anniversary then Shadowlands is what I’m thinking.
So, after all this virus stuff, they haven’t been set back at all? How will the game suffer if they force a release before the games ready?
Well, they can do a lot “online” and there is already a “public alpha” (which is not a “real” alpha test.) So it is pretty far along.
They start working on these WAY early; Figure when BFA released, they were already working on SL.
Well, you see, most people have these newfangled devices called “personal computers,” and can work on creating vidya games from home with their internets.
Well, that’s an assumption.
BfA had an alpha as well, and we see how well things turned out. Shadowlands will be the first expansion after QA team was gutted.
Well, you see, you don’t have to be rude because someone voiced their opinion.
The game is releasing in Q4 of this year, which means an October/November release date is likely. September/October for pre-patch, assuming there are no further delays.
As far as I know that’s the original prediction, and I’m assuming it will be delayed. I will say again, in the current climate I can’t imagine the production of the expansion didn’t suffer.
According to Ion (if he can be believed of course) there was a one week adjustment period. Now everyone is ‘comfortably’ working from home.
So according to him the production only suffered a week set back.
The Q4 announcement was made at the recent Acti-Blizz Investors Call, and it was J. Allen Brack who made the announcement at that, so, unless there are more delays in the future, sometime in Q4 is when the expansion will release.
Which is fine. My point is that if it isn’t delayed that I believe the production will suffer.

I’m going out on a limb here and saying Nov 10th for the release date. This is just a blind date, knowing that it’s about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and about 6 weeks to Christmas. It also allows them to get pre-patch out Mid-Oct.
That’s a release window a little over 6 months from now. Alpha should be ending here by the end of June if they can finish the last 2 zones. That would be 4 solid months of Beta, 1-2 for the pre-patch PTR, and a good holiday release schedule.
Your point is an unfounded assumption.
