I never raided in classic. Let’s assume I’m a fresh level 60, and I plan to raid 1-2 times a week. What can I expect in terms of clearing and getting my tier set as say a Shaman?
As long as you have enough DKP, you will be fine.
it took me forever to get my t2 set for transmog and that was as 1 person, there will probably be between 6-8 shamans in your raid and only a few t2 drop at a time. its gonna take awhile man.
He is asking for his first set. Not T2
Shaman? Well if there’s 7 other shams in your raid, and if 9 bosses drop T1, and they have a 20% chance to be a tier item, then a 10% chance to be a sham item ugh. Like a year maybe?
That’s 52 weeks of MC.
Are you joking? Oh my god.
classic loot is random. i’ll tell you a quick story about something that happened to me. my guild was farming bwl (tier 2 set), i had 7/8 pieces, just needed the chest which drops from the last boss. we had a mage in full tier 2, he had financial issues and had to sell his account. he was able to lvl up to 60 and get full tier 2 before i ever saw the chest piece drop. it never dropped for us because by then we were doing bwl then aq and the guild broke up in aq when we couldnt kill cthun
That’s why we split raid my friend. Well, casuals don’t, so don’t join a casual guild.
Honestly not that bad. Look at us Warriors. We have to compete against the tanks and dps warriors.
Don’t join a guild that gives DPS warriors the tier gear except maybe the AQ shoulders
Honestly don’t let the long time discourage you. Just think about how everyone else on your team has to suffer just as much as you.
He did say raid 1-2 times a week. That is very casual.
The dream is dead
Yeah but I mean, how am I ever going to progress to the next raid if by the time I have the gear for it TBC is coming out. And do I really want to run the same raid for a whole year? Dang dude.
I thought it was guna be like six runs over three weeks or something
You are thinking X+ years from now dude. We don’t even know if TBC will happen.
And if you are in a guild that goes off of DKP: you can just “buy” your tier sets.
Only the proficient raids will hop from MC/Ony to BWL - most casual guilds will wait for ZG and maybe even AQ20 to get enough gear to BWL.
Unless they change something in Classic that causes bosses to drop a few more epics, I dunno
You wont need a full set of tier 1 to get into Blackwing Lair, similarly you won’t need full tier 2 to get into AQ, or Nax. Its not like gearing post Cata where you grind out a tier set so you can replace it in the next raid.
I knew several warrior tanks who were tanking Vael and Chromaggus with Valor shoulders on. Getting a full tier set is incredibly rare, which is what makes them so special.
That being said, NEEDING a full tier set is even more rare.
So is doing this… fun? Will I have a good time if I’m clearing MC over and over again? I heard the mechanics are simple and stuff. To be honest I have only been in an organized raid in WoD and BfA I really just want to know what I’m in for.
It’s fun. As since it’s easy mechanically: you can more-or-less just have a chill time doing it. It’s no more than doing normal dungeons in BfA
