I’m hoping at least two years, as it would allow me to play casually. if Blizzard cancelled it before then, it would be unfortunate, I’d like to get to raid on a couple of different classes. I hope we can get some sort of promise, as vanilla is a major time investment.
The risk is always that some hot new game comes out before then and classic empties out, but I’d be surprised. I’m pretty sure there are only a couple of worthwhile candidates in development (camelot unchained, etc.) and they are far from being released.
Wow 9.0 might also be an issue, and substantially reduce the population, but it may not be enough to pull the classic fanbase away if they don’t fix things like world pvp, dungeon finder, etc.should improve some class fixes,
Forever, because even to this day OSRS is still kicking with thousands of active players.
I’ll always find something to do.
Until they release the TBC servers as the next Activision cash grab.
I won’t even be mad. Will be there day 1, even if we can’t xfer our characters, and Im sure my guild would be there too.

Blizzard isn’t going to cancel Classic. It’s not a time limited run. The idea is that Classic will be here as long as Blizzard is a viable company.

If they were to actually cancel Classic under a three year time span this would ultimately be the big bomb for Blizzard.
They would lose SO MUCH interest and stock from investors.
“indefinitely” is my initial answer, but since that isnt really a proper answer…
10 years. Minimum. If things die down population wise 2-3 years down the line, blizzard would be wise to do server mergers.

It should “last” forever as an option that’s always playable. It’ll always have an audience and it should never force a patch up. Make new realms for each expansion.
Forever… not just one playthrough… but many playthroughs for years to come.
People who think it’ll last longer than a year are dreaming pretty hard.
The population might not last, but the servers are staying up for the life of WoW. Blizzard already decided this and said so.
I’d be down for forever, and maybe add a fresh server after every 2. No ladders, just new servers this way we can revisit raid openings.
Forever. No need for further xpacs or content. There is a lifetime of content just in Classic.
They’re not going to cancel Classic once the last Naxx patch is out. Development costs are going to plummet so the subscriber dollars will easily pay for the servers.
I want it to last 1 year after I depart this world. That way I never see it end.
It’s going to last forever… Classic WoW is a legacy game, its not going anywhere. Blizzard didn’t just shut down Warcraft 3 when it was over… people are still playing that online and its still within the top 100 games on Twitch.
Blizzard has great support for their games and Classic WoW will be around as long as Blizzard is.
