That depends on blizzard really. I WANT to play classic till i can farm out naxx and then make a horde toon and do it again. So i plan on playing for the better part of a decade.
I’m not sure how long blizzard can go without trying to milk this though. Once micro transactions besides the basic server transfers get added i will probably quit.

Apart from my usual troll response. It all boils down to three things.

I’ll play until gold bots are flooding chat and/or Blizzard’s reponse to Classic. Is it going to be more hands off, hoping we go back to retail? After all the #nochanges crowd will a thorn in Blizzard’s side if anything new shows unforseen. Etc.

Huge faction imbalance. Matter of when…not if.

I finally can afford to buy something better than this overpriced toaster that cannot even play classic WoWs max graphics…stress test was a big disappointment…private servers do not even wake up my GPU. Go figure.
3.5. At which point a more modern MMO will be my focus. And consoles are not the answer. PC master race here.
On-and-off for as long as it’s up.
Unless something changes, probably longer than retail.

Until Classic TBC launches. No doubt. Even if I don’t get to invested in raiding… (which that is a fat chance)… I’ll just level alts… the game is amazing… and interesting, and rewarding. And each class has a distinct feel… whereas in live? They all feel the same really.

since i have nothing left to live for in my life. i would say 50 years or till i die. whatever comes first
Paid for six months. Will see after that, as 40 man raiding was a pain. Then again, in vanilla I had 8 characters at 60 so might not need to raid to play a year or more.
Until Classic TBC launches.
Or until I get tired of it.
Or until a better MMO comes out.
Till ActivBliz eventually destroys the game I once so loved… as they did with current retail.

Years, no joke. I want t3 on my main, prob wont get that far on alts but naxx clear alone will be a good chunk of time.
I also have plans for alts on diff servers. Want one on rp or rpvp server, and want characters on both factions at some point too.
Im planning on classic being my main game for years to come. If blizz never shuts down, ill be popping in and out for as long as i live. Vanilla wow , for better or worse, has a special place in my heart that goes beyond graphics or gameplay. Maybe even beyond nostalgia, as a kid it felt like my second home. Might sound a little pathetic but there it is.

Until TBC servers come out, and then moving on to that. Hopefully that will be 2-3 years down the road, because I want time for our guild to kill Kel’thuzad.
I have a couple of factors that will likely keepme invested in Classic for at least a year. For one thing, i never got to experience Vanilla and so i am excited at the prospect of my virgin run through the Classic leveling process. There really is no MMO that i enjoy other than WoW and Classic hews much closer to the WoW i love than retail. With the exception of flying, the more detailed character models, and the long list of new races (one of my top favorite parts of the game), all my favorite features are in Classic. I can’t wait to see the original talent trees and have a class that can do things no one else’s can. Yep, i am probably deeply into Classic for the long haul unless, fat chance, 9.0 is good, or until the Wildstar private server gets finished.
I’m a filthy casual. So I’m here for the long haul, haha.

I’d say I’m in same boat but I differ when it comes to TBC. While I may stick around for a lil bit of TBC i’d much rather get some additional Classic content which I think could be complemented with some TBC elements. I know that’s prolly a less popular opinion but if we just going to head down the same road I’d prolly just try out another game after Naxx clears and alt domination.
I will play on and off most likely for many years
i think many years, at least until they release a BC server. Retail would have to be a lot more challenging for me to ever go back to it.
Until i get all 10 of my characters to cap. even then i think id still kill time chillen out in lowbie zones offering water food and portals and Bags to newbies in goldshire/dolanaar
