And what happens if you miss out on it? Is the loot unique to the season or no?
Season is just the new term for raid tier, so like 5 to 12 months.
Seasons are typically 6-8 months long. The same duration as a raid teir.
The loot isn’t unique to a season, but the rewards like the Title (time all 10’s) and Mount (time all 15’s) are, and more than likely won’t come back.
So this is what players mean by Blizz devs investing in “one more raid tier”…
Does this mean we only get 1 new piece of armor every 6-8 months?
Nah, that’s just a joke from way, wayyy back.
With a new season you get:
An additional raid tier, with it’s own unique loot table.
A new PvP season, with upscaled gear and a new look.
A new mythic season, with additional cosmetic rewards from completing Keystone Master (Title) and Conqueror (Mount). Item models the same, but gear is upscaled to match the new Raid and PvP gear.
Plus whatever else they add into the game, like new zones, dungeons, etc.
