Sure. But I’d imagine after even 1000 years Draenei are just begging for something new and exciting to happen.
Are you sure? After 1000 years I’m sure they have seen countless wars. And more excitement then they could ever care to handle. If it was me, I’d imagine after 1000 years I would just want the opposite of something exciting to happen.
Argussian years or Azerothian?
…raises hand in thought
…
lowers hand
I did not think of that
Probably Azerothian given that the host people haven’t said they operate on a different time scale.
We have all of 2 Draenei to hint at just how long we age, and one’s a one-off (Jessera of Mac’Aree) and one’s Velen (who counts as a special case obvs and therefore isn’t that great to use as a potential baseline.)
So we’re like lobsters, kinda?
Is this the WoW equivalent of European Swallow or…
throws you to the side of the bridge
And that’s one of the frustrating things about WoW’s lack of world building.
True, but are they converting from Argus’ orbital period to Azeroth’s? Because if I go visit Saturn I’m barely over one Saturnian year old. Ugh, all these different planetary customs to keep track of!
Are there Horde around?
Lol oh my…
Wouldn’t they be post-mortal?
They may have not even considered it being beings of great wisdom and age.
But hrmmm they does make me think…
Let’s assume for the sake of sheer ease that Argus’ orbital period (and thus distance from its sun) is the same as Azeroth’s due to
and you can kick me in the teeth later for being wrong
the whole ‘Goldilocks’ zone’ stuff
Aka a range out in the orbit of a star where it’s neither too hot or cold to sustain life.
And then we have FTL travel. Would that mean when they returned to Argus that their ancestors aged MUCH more than they? Or did the fel basically divide by 0?
And we can further assume their planet’s atmosphere contains near identical concentration of gases for life. And that it’s not retrograde (they never comment about “wow, the sun rises in the east instead of the west!”).
I was just being contrarian. Don’t mind me…
Three.

Nah I don’t mind, it brings forth a groundwork that players can use to stipulate how stuff works.
We’re never going to get Word-of-God confirmations, so the best we can is make something that makes as much sense as it can and then slap WoW with it.
Hrmm despite a year taking longer the rate of ageing (if any) would be the same.
You might be 12000 argussian and 30000 Azerothian.
That’s me making an assumption though on the climates effect on ageing. Doesn’t seem to have done a whole lot to the humans.
Agreed. I would totally love more world building - discussing the names of the days and months (or however each planet breaks down their orbital period) between each race. But this isn’t Elder Scrolls, nor is it simply contained in Nirn, to carry the analogy.
But I do like these chats!
