I’m sure there have been many closed door meetings discussing how to pull the $$ from classic. In my mind, I imagine it going like this.

Big Boss: “Let’s add Classic Lootboxes”

Blizz Classic Last Stand: “No, not yet.”

I’m in the NoChanges camp but I’m realistic enough to know that if money is to be made, it’s gonna be made- and some Night Elf Druid having a glowing kitty they bought for Hurricane relief following them around for two weeks (till they get tired of it) isn’t going to break my fun.

Aside from server transfers I don’t see any coming in. Well maybe the option of buying a collectors addition with slightly reskinned pets.

The gaming industry as a whole, needs to collapse. Its done become pathetically convoluted with features that should come standard with the game or with updates.

Right after i get my final fantasy remake and purchase the cute Cloud skin.

At which point you will see WoW subs dramatically drop and P-server pops sky rocket again. Why? B/c another publisher/developer refused to listen the community for which is trying to sell to.

Maybe I’m giving them more credit than I should but I don’t really believe they will add a cash shop to Classic. They know they would kill the supporting player base.

I agree. If activi$ion is stupid enough to do this it will just cause pirate servers to flourish.

It was baked into the merger legal documentation that blizzard studios will remain autonomous. So… never. They might have micro transactions, but point your finger at Blizzard when that happens.

If it does not effect game play and is cosmetic, then I don’t care. They won’t get my money outside of sub.

Calling it now, TBC and WotLK servers announced either blizzcon 2019 or 2020 with payed character transfers from Classic --> TBC —> WotLK ----> Retail. I feel its too easy of a cash grab for activision to ignore. Plus alot of the work for TBC and WotLK servers would have been done in the making of classic.

Well hopefully, according to rumors, Disney will buy Activision soon and let Blizzard run their game the way it was meant to be because Blizzard knows what’s best for their game. I.E. like Disney did with Marvel. One can only hope.

No when Vivendi merged with Activision, Vivendi was the majority holder.
5 years later the new merged company Activision-Blizzard bought out Vivendi.

Both Activision and Blizzard are both businesses under the Activision Blizzard parent company.

Also a majority of Activision Blizzard is owned by the public.
