In game when lightforged die there’s a tiny explosion and some moderate damage is done to near by enemies. But lorewise, since Lightforged are the Lights truly chosen and favored champions, you would think the light would lash out in a violent explosion against who killed them. I’m thinking something like this. At the 1:50 mark

To be fair this reminds me of Wisp detonation more than anything from warcraft 3.

I concur, their explosion should be grander. I also happen to like earth shattering kabooms, so I may be biased.
Yeah, I think wisps are the only thing shown in lore that self sacrifice, make an explosion that large to take out an enemy. I just think lightforged would be avenged by the light with a bigger explosion.
From a lore standpoint they either do it to save someone’s life or they do it out of anger and rage like we see numerous times in warcraft 3. Na’ sure, Devs never really clarified that… We have numerous instances in game (not dungeons, like, npcs) of wisps where they are around trees. I think Darkshore before it got ravaged? Maybe? Na’ sure… But they are always friendly and anyone who I’ve seen RPing a wisp for say a Kaldorei/Night Elf Guild they are generally friendly.

They could just use the DK corpse explosion visual and mix in some azerite effects or something.
I thought they only do it in dire situations, like a bunch blow up to kill Archimonde, because if they didnt, Archimonde would destroy the world tree, absorb the well of eternity then likely destroy the world.

This is true. I didn’t consider the world tree incident. Honestly there is so much lore to go around half of the time I keep forgetting what I’ve read in books and from wiki pages. Dire situations most likely then…
I’ve never even seen the effect on my LF Pally. It needs to at least be noticable.
