They’re a buggy mess and most abilities still feel “meh” to press.
Why do they feel meh? Low dmg? Lack of ability effect?
Damage is good. Too much of it comes from pets though, one of which was just nerfed. Playstyle is basically BFA again but this time with more bugs.
What are the bugs? I hear sef isnt as buggy as some ppl like to claim.
If you look at current raid performance WW is on the low side. However, all melee except for unholy are overall in the bottom 50%
That techically sounds like progress.
ww is doing worse because other classes are doing better
Looking at the current list, WW is second last with feral being last.
With the way balance and there is about a 40% damage difference between the top and bottom.
Tho, part of that is just that Spriest and hunter are broken.
windwalker is currently even more of a trashfire than before the pre-patch
it doesnt help that there is also 1209381209381203918230912831209 bugs plaguing the spec too.
it doesnt help that our talent tree received absolutely 0 tuning or iteration.
it doesnt help blizz didnt address ANY of the scaling problems the spec has.
it doesnt help that blizz hasnt even looked at this spec yet, after 10 months.
it doesnt help that blizz blindly and infuriatingly hold onto the trashfire that is storm earth and fire when it is impossible for them to get this ability working correctly.
our damage breakdown is so skewed, that even supplementary and supportive abilities dont cause a feedback into the rotation becoming stronger. ie: T15 being a prime example of… just being there and existing and doing absolutely nothing to the spec.
look how far we are behind every other spec atm.
now imagine if hit combo was baseline, and was 10% instead of 6%. combine this with a 300% increase to the effectiveness to T15 without even iterating or changing out the useless talents. and if they made it that white swings continued even during animations for FOF/SCK/WDP. those couple of very basic changes puts us into middle of the pack. now imagine that they put in strike of the windlord into hit combos position ( like they should of done ). we are not up towards the top of the pack.
then miraculously they fixed all of our bugs or better yet removed storm earth and fire and gave us a real dps cd. this spec would be pumping.
but that would require blizz actually working on this damn class instead of ignoring it.
edit: for some reason i cant link the warcraft logs breakdown, the forums are being silly. but we are down the bottom, second last with dead ferals.
compared to every other DPS class in this game at this time. we are number #1 at sucking @$$… Lowest DPS per ilvl… and all our AOE abilities got capped. we now do lowest Single target… and lowest AOE dmg… I had a ilvl 120 HOLY pally … yes Holy pally… Out DPS my 122 WW monk… I did 3.4k DPS(single target) in a 1 min fight… and the Holy pally did 3.5k dps while healing… lol so tell me guys. that fair? what about Ret Pallys doing 9k DPS overall in Mythics? or ferals breaking 5k dps Single target… they nerfed Whirling Dragonpunch super hard… and i promice you guys. Fists of Fury got a nerf as well( been Simming since day 1 of Prepatch) 1300 Fists of Fury (vs dumbies) down to 800 FOF vs dumbies in 2 days? Explain please…
We are the DogSheit of the game) … every class got a complete overhaul… what did we get? Trash Defensives… the same PVP talents we’ve picked since Monk release? and the same garbage rotations, with less damage… we are in a worse place for PVP since BFA, and believe it or not… even tho we were the Bottom of the DMG in PVE/Raiding… we are now behind healers in damage… ( and i was running mythic 15+ since level 110… and this is the WORST ive seen it

PS: my mage (frost spec) ilvl 71 . 2.8k DPS (single target)… Monk ilvl 122. 2.5k (singletarget) could some1 please explain how a mage… with half the HP, half the ilvl… is doing more then my Mythic+ geared Monk? IM still wearing lvl 110 Legendarys and heirloom gear on my mage LOL… NOW @blizzard please… tell me where you see the balance in that??

With that said in pvp we trucking along like we were in bfa
i can guarantee that we will go live like this into shadowlands with 0 changes.
and going from that recent controversy thats popped up about blizzard and there " secret forum " for feedback from people they trust, and STILL ignoring all of that feedback.
blizzard do not care one iota. otherwise they would of done something years ago.
It’s pre patch and there are still essences and traits in the game so it’s hard to tell right now.
But from playing some low keys, casual bgs and queing some 2s (2200-2500) it felt great damage wise.
Damage being more evenly proportioned feels really nice, also dance talent feels great and can hit pretty hard. I was able to out damage most classes, with the exception of warrior.
I dislike the new ToD change but mainly due to the delay and it also being on GCD.
Feels like everything is one shotting people now, but even despite that you can feel the defensive changes. I feel like you have to be more selective now with your defensives. Diffuse kind of took a small nerf too imo with how the meta is shaping up to be with aff locks and the dispell damage.
SL it’s hard to say. Some of the cov abilities are looking great/broken though + we will be getting Xuen burst. Oh and incap will be 30s which is cool.
Still problems, dead talents, bugs. But the numbers and fun are there. For me anyway and from a pvp pov

I really miss this already. If its intentional and blizzard does not want us to have control over the roll, then it makes no sense to me, due to the fact you are still able to axhieve this with jumping. Its just a more sluggish, less optimal mechanic, and can be harder to pull off with lag (i play on oce).

Finally got around to doing some mythic + on beta. I was only doing heal before, so I went as damage. It feels not very good.
First off, mythic + seems unfriendly to melee in general…than our dps just seemed low. Granted I’m no expert on WW…but I got the general idea. We are WAY to reliant on cooldowns right now to do damage. Fist of fury needs a big buff to damage. …actually that alone might fix the spec, just a good chunk more damage on Fist…and maybe a bit more heals with expel or some more damage reduction. Oh and dance of chiji or whatever felt kinda weak too.
( I will add that I’m comparing this to my Boomkin on beta and when I did a hunter run too…both felt FAR superior). On a side note, DH tanks doing way too much dps.
