And how is its fun factor?
I like lots of buttons and thinking about what I am doing.
I have never tanked before but trying to learn more support options.
Fun factor: 10/10 most fun tank spec imo
Yeah I enjoy it greatly. The class is very mobile and as long as you keep your shield up and know what to pop BEFORE you get hit you will outlast everything. It’s got decent damage too! Just make sure to be nice to your healer, the class doesn’t have great self healing compared to others.
What does it do in comparison to other tanks? what aspect is warrior better?
Physical mitigation king, great movement and we bring a mediocre buff

Of all the tanks this season for m+ only prot warrior is the least represented in high keys, mostly because they can’t live on their own. They need their team to play as well as they are in order to excel. If a missed magic kick goes through and prot warrior isn’t ready for it, good chance they need to start kiting insta to let the healer top them off.
In short they need the most help from their team in order to do well. There’s Redfuego on rio.com who’s the top prot war in the world and he also streams and it’s good content if you’re interested
This is exactly why prot needs tuning. The demanding game play required to maximize sb uptime through reprisal just does not pay off as it should, revenge dmg should be buffed.
Revert reprisal to original iteration when we gained 8seconds of shield block vs 4 seconds. Bring back our aoe to more bfa levels.
Warrior damage is not an issue lol. It’s them randomly dying to a missed kick of some magic damage. Or dying through bleed damage.

Been playing on alts lately and been running across quite a few Prot Warriors, it seems like a bad case of mismanagement as well.
Too much Rage into Revenge for damage and not enough saved up for IP and pulling SB back to back >.<
I am one of those prot warriors lol. It feels bad to not be pressing something coming from prot pal where virtually every global I can be pressing something. However I have started to learn to pay attention more to ravager windows where I can dump a lot into revenge and after that I need to play smart and keep SB and IP up before dumping into revenge again

I love Prot Warrior. The rotation is smooth, plenty of AOE dmg, and has great phys dmg mitigation. Its not perfect though, it lacks self healing and sustained magic dmg mitigation (spell reflect is nice but doesn’t always work or is on cooldown). Overall though its just plain fun to tank with.

Instead of what? Avatar is included with prot warrior tool kit. Unless you mean anger management?

Into the fray
I prefer Into The Fray.
More haste means shorter CD times on some of your core abilities (Shield Slam, Shield Block, T-Clap), GCD, and for some of us, our melee swings for those who talent into Devastator, which leads into readying Shield Slam.
Also synergize with Warriors who are Kyrian with Kleia as their Soulbind. (She has a similar effect as Into The Fray, but for Critical Chance instead.
It’s just my preference.
