I mean I do agree its a bit dumb how much you have to grind back up from scratch if you do decide to try a new convent or need to switch for other reasons and its even more annoying if you’ve already done the grind in another convent.
I think the sanctum upgrades should carry over to other convents, but are 1 rank lower than the highest you have. So if you have a rank 3 teleporter with Kyrian, if u change to any other convent you’ll automatically have the rank 2 teleporter and so on.
However, its a bit funny because this has been common knowledge since like beta lmao, like why are you having a fit now.
This is why I stopped playing retail. Between the covenant crap when switching, locked content for no reason and the maw…
What a shame really, this expansion had so much potential and had the possibility of being the best expansion since Wotlk. It’s like for every 2 steps they took forward they took 3 back.
Nobody wants to be optimal in game except for the WF players who are getting paid too little that need real jobs to suffice it … The fact is the general non WF crowd they do not want to put the effort into being optimal that is actually putting in exuberant amount of times into being picture perfect they want to skip all that and reach the target goal.
Classic example is the fat dude wanting to be macho but putting in minimum effort and blaming that the world is not made around their need much like wow. In game the classic example is the guy who wants to optimal but then choose to pug everything which is completely opposite of being optimal .
Except he’s right? This isn’t a roman galley where they whip slaves to row faster, it’s a damn video game we pay for in order to have fun. I know the two can be hard to tell apart some times.
They announced this before Shadowlands started - that Covenants would have abilities - and the choice would have weight - almost like a sub class - and once you invest into one - it would be a struggle to switch.
The Hardcore players spoke up then - and there are posts on this very forum that defended Blizzard’s decision. Where were you then?
Bottom line - there’s a balancing issue because Blizzard doesn’t know how to balance a patch or an xpac before it launches - and very rarely afterward are they able to get it right. But they sold this xpac on your covenant decision mattering… so making it hard to switch is the way they make good on that promise.
I mean you did betray the covenant that awarded you all of this and gave you their backing by going to another covenant so yeah you deserve to lose it and start over. You must prove your worth to your new covenant and with that comes rewards. I guess it is a way for blizz to tell you think next time before you make up your mind. Decisions have consequences and you just learned of them.
Rastlin used to always type “It’s a slap in the face!” in bold letters and people complained about it so much that iirc, he was told by the mods not use Bold letters for that line or else he’d get banned so he had to resort to using Italics instead.
How is that justified but Preheat can keep on posting whatever way he wants to?
