Would be enough just so we know its still happening

“We are considering what changes to add to SoM 2 before announcing a release date”

There is a leak that said it’s Q4 so many months from now. Basically in the fall.
That is even if those leaks hold up to be true. They could be all BS. I am not holding my breath at all–and i am not excited if those leaks hold up to be true.
People have stated interest in fresh before but it was neither a flop or a hit. I mean if there was some kind of poll all we could have is what the people demand and if people are just asking for fresh that doesn’t narrow down all the fun things that could come from som2…
I would still play it. But how long I would depends on what they do with the rest of the game

They just gave retail news on ptr if they announce som it will make retail unimportant. Also means if we don’t get som soon we won’t get for month after next retail patch 
Turtle wow is not “in touch” with the classic community. The server is just a vanilla plus mode with jank RP added on. It has had a surge of players because SOM ended. Just like every other vanilla fan server.
They treat WoW and the playerbase with far more respect than Blizz does. Using the old client is more authentic, less buggy. Doesn’t have the broken Classic respawns and layering issues. It’s far more populated than Classic Era. Community is friendly. Bots and spammers get banned real fast.
Or so I’ve heard. Of course I wouldn’t know personally.
1.12 is terrible.
I dont enjoy layering but thats not just a client thing thats a decision made by blizzard for whatever logistical reason.
Because people are waiting on SOM. Are you that dense you think turtle wow would be popular otherwise? It has been around for quite some time and has had only a handful of people on it up until VERY recently…hmmm same with era…hmmm right after SOM ended…

More than can be said about recycling 1.12 and adding some hp to bosses here and disabling a buff here and there and calling it a new product.
I’d love to see a fresh WoW server but I see no reason why Blizz would invest time and money into it when there has been a return of players to era. “Not a opinion I personally like but one that I can guess is what’s going to happen.”

I disagree with your assessment.
The “server/project creators” that you’re referring to were the stewards of the “Nost Core.” This was basically the best consolidated, Blizzard-like set of pserver data, and they instead used it to swindle people out of their money until the server was taken down by their web-host for non-payment (they claimed copyright issues).
As a result the community was split in two as a 3rd member of their team created a new server with the same dataset. Then they brought the original server came back online on a new web-host.
This was only for a short time, until their financial indiscretions came to light. They then abandoned “the pserver named after a movie”-project in the hands of people who basically ruined it by making it a progression server. Once you move the server to TBC, none of the improved “Nost Core” vanilla content is relevant anymore. It becomes just another crappy private TBC experience. To be fair, the pserver programmers did an amazing job with no amount of financial compensation for their extensive work. Blizzard should’ve made job offers to all of those guys and gals when classic came out.
Basically, your “Amphibian-WoW” idols helped Blizzard by killing the only remaining pserver (and its community) that could’ve approached Nost’s level of quality and dedication to the authenticity of the Vanilla WoW experience in its best form (“best” meaning version 1.12.1.5875). Just just my opinion and I could be misremembering a lot of things, or possibly I was woefull misinformed, but I felt compelled to offer a counterpoint to your recommendation.
I hope that will be Vanilla and not TBC SOM.
To be fair I’m not too familiar with all the details of said private servers outside of the gameplay so I could def look more into it,
Thing that I like about the mentioned server though is that it’s a van+ experience with things not found in the original game that seem to be enjoyed.
If anything, Blizz should observe what is happening in the private server scene to gauge where the community’s pulse is at the moment. I will def play on a fresh or som server however what I really want is a + done right by people who have passion for the game and Blizz as a company have proven time after time that Classic is just an afterthought at best so I feel right in not trusting them to do a + correctly.
