I have never struggled to find RP on WrA, but I am a networker at heart. If you are someone who is not good at forming connections and playing nice with others, or someone who is not interested in that, Moon Guard is significantly better due to a higher mass of strangers. WrA is significantly smaller, on both Horde and Alliance.
Horde walkup does exist, but it comes in waves and the pickings are slim. I really recommend having a guild or a frequent event that you attend on the server.
WRA is WAY more regimented compared to 2012 when I last played consistently. It reminds me of what Landroval became in LOTRO before the RP community fell apart/left. Long story short, kins started mass reporting a few players to get them silenced. The GMs were ALSO the dev team so they were rightfully pissed. They posted to chat āstop making stupid tickets or we will not have update ready for you on timeā. Then they spawned in a boss to knock everyone out⦠Players got mad and quit in droves, mainly kins doing events. It was all over a few guys sitting on there horses and a competing concert at the base of Weathertop.
WrA has always skewed more towards Community based RP vs Spontaneous RP. Mostly because the bulk of us on WrA have had bad experiences with Spontaneous RP over the decades and just prefer to socialize and make believe with the people we know.
Hell, I stopped even having a RP Profile add on simply because all the crap I was getting (Apparently 250 years is ātoo youngā for an Elf).
The gameās 20 years old. Most of us have responsibilities and interests outside of WoW. We donāt really need the High School-esque drama about cliques in regards to RP because - bluntly - weāve all pretty much outgrown that level of pedantry.
So yes, on WrA itās slightly more difficult to just āpick up and playā in a RP sense, because people arenāt just going to make room for your OC Main Character in their stories.
Sadgati is probably among the youngest living elves at age 44. 250 is not young nor old. Sure there are some that lives past 2000 years. Reality is most will die from illness, accidents, war, or other non natural causes.
āWe are among the last generation of blood elves on Azeroth. The work of Arthus has wiped 90% of our race leaving three women to each one man. Atrophy, wide-spread fel dependency, and many just like myselfā¦who not just has visions of the nightmares resulting from the Third War but lives in its very re manifestation, so often at times inopportune, triggered by sounds and sight of the current time. This living nightmare continues to consume our kin leaving broken souls in its wake. Some, like me are able to separate the current reality from dreams of the Third War. I only do so in embarrassment, ridicule, loss of pride. Then there are others who are consumed, trapped in a state of insanity, soul leaving a living body to reunite with its other parts. The vessel left to decay in lifeā --Sadgati Jayavanti
It was years ago, I canāt even remember what it was about. It got really nasty though. The thread just had tons of replies and devolved into mud flinging. For me it got to the point where it was too serious to think it was funny anymore.
Oh yah, we had some really long threads and some attacks getting pretty personal. I remember muting the multiple arguments about elves because Iām not an elf player, call me when we have a 1000+ Draenei thread, thanks. I had a few personal attacks lobbed at me a couple of times from folks in some threads, at the time I was pretty frustrated by it but now looking back itās funny how unserious it all was.
Very Twitter arguments, I like chairs, OH SO YOU HATE BENCHES?? No, Iām just saying, I play Alliance and we have chairs cry more losers.
yāknow i didnāt get the hate for elves until i started talking to silvermoon RPāers and I can safely say we are fine without SMC on this server. somehow, playing a bitter illidari veteran that had a hard time going home meant I dodged a LOT of nonsense.
I liked going to Silvermoon but I played an undead with their profile that said COVERED IN BEES and I generally got some really great and funny reactions from people.
Anyway I was mostly referring to the endless fighting when void elves and nightborne got announced as playable. Followed by the Warbringer cinematics which dialed up forum arguements even more. Then we put our elf differences aside when Shadowlands came out and commiserated the decline of the story together.
