Hi all, I am returning to the game in preperation for Dragonflight, and am looking to start a new Alliance toon since I mainly played Horde in the past. I’ve always been interested in RP and want to take a stab at it this time around, but my main focus is Mythic+ and eventually Raiding. How is the scene on Moonguard? Are there RP guilds that also do PvE content, or even just enough Open RP that I could join a non-RP guild?
I already have toons on Moonguard and Stormrage from a while back but am not sure which one to make a new toon on. Mog/Mount runs are also a big focus of mine but I assume guilds do that on both. Any insight is appreciated!
Oh also, I’m pretty interested in making a Void Elf and was wondering how the Void RP is if anyone has experience, it seems like it could be really cool!
The best place to check raid activity on any realm is wowprogress dot com, that will tell you exactly who’s raiding and what progression looks like.
Regarding finding rp on Moon Guard if you join a content-related guild, there are a bunch of discords you can join which are a constant source of rp activity and will give you plenty of events and contacts to keep you busy. Alliance side I’d suggest The Grand Alliance ( 7PVbEQZ discord) and Stormwind Daily Newspaper ( 67jWRPXuA8 discord). Horde side I’d say Coalition of the Horde ( PYfrDW73Pp discord) is a good place to start.
Finally, if you want to see what’s available on Moon Guard (beyond the resources that are here in forums if you parse through them), just make a toon and listen to trade chat to see what guilds/groups are advertising. That’s the best way to get a feel for what you can expect to find. Be sure to grab a rp add-on like Total RP 3 so you can see who’s running around and available for rp (don’t be afraid to note that you’re a new rp’er in your own TRP3 profile, most will be helpful if you are respectful and make an effort). Moon Guard, especially with more players leaving hte game courtesy of SL, is mostly RPers with the ocassional PVE guild. You’ll find a few guilds that do raid & RP, but for the most part its casual, so if you don’t care about clearing Mythic raids you’ll be fine.
I don’t know of any organized efforts for Void Elf RP, but there’s a heavy presence for them in general. I’ve never had problems finding themed RP in walkup, and I almost exclusively play void elves.
As for M+, it’s mostly done cross realm so you won’t have many problems with that. There are groups that are more Moon Guard heavy doing them, mine’s working on getting everybody KSM/KSH right now. I could see about bringing you in sometime to see if you vibe with the group.
