How is the infinite soul ash grind any different from the infinite azerite grind?

What the title says.

For starters, it caps at 8,000.

it’s not. It’s new and shiny and therefore “not a grind”.

Because it is finite.

You can only equip one rn, so if you max out your best one you don’t need to do torghast again.

Its takes less than a hour a week to finish both wings on layer 8 then you are done for the week, that don’t seem like much of a grind to me

Totally different.

It’s also not necessary to keep doing it once you have your BiS fully upgraded, might want to hit cap so you have some banked for 9.1 but for all we know they might wipe it out and have us start fresh instead.

I mean yeah it’s a grind, but it’s WAYYYY easier/faster to get your legendary fully upgraded/cap soul ash than it was to fully upgrade your azerite neck. Spending like an hour per week in Torghast to hit your weekly cap is much more enjoyable than spending every waking hour farming azerite power.

Until you want a higher ilevel.

As with everything in SL, it is simply a re-skin of an existing system.

In other words: it isn’t.

It’s only infinite I guess if you’ve got a crap ton of legendaries to upgrade.

Because Azerite was available from so many different paths.

It was boring, and I mostly ignored it. But the bar still filled up.

Because torghast is fun

Far more likely they’ll treat it like residum and increase the cost/what you earn to make the banked ash less relevant.

i guess the question is how many orange items are you making you can only wear 1 at a time unless your a druid and you need a piece for each possible spec/role

I think the anima grind is closer to azerite power since anima is a mere trickle and you need tens of thousands of of it to progress to any reasonable amount

Anima isn’t like Azerite Power, you don’t need for power. It’s mainly for Sanctum Upgrades to make the game a bit more fun for those who like the upgrades. Plus there’s a cap on it too therefore not a endless grind. You only need to grind out 1000 per week for renown that will end at 40 for this beginning of the expansion.

it caps, is only for a single piece of gear which has an effect thats better than higher ilvl items in that slot, and you don’t need to infinitely grind it once you get your good legendary (unless you want multiple). It takes like an hour a week for a few weeks and then you’re done, vs infinite daily world quest grinding. I hate Torghast, my monk has an ilvl 225 legendary and I’m not even worried about it. If I was 10 AP levels behind, I wouldn’t be competitive

I hate forced grinds as much as the next guy but this isn’t even comparable to AP.

Because it isn’t an infinite grind?

Once you have your legendary you want to craft your done.
