How is that’s my bis supposed to work?

My guild has recently started using thatsmybis. From what I understood the prio in which you put items matters. Just say 2 people have an item as #1 those 2 people would get to roll on it correct? The way we are using it now is just a list of our bis doesn’t matter the order whatsoever. I can see this as problematic because some people share mostly all the same bis and can get lucky and win every item. Which is the correct way to use thatsmybis?

That’s basically how it works, the alternative is Loot Council where your officers will put all their IRL friends ahead of you for the same loot piece so this is somewhat more fair.

So prio of items doesn’t matter at all? Imo 2SR would be much better than than this. Like right now I need a weapon over everyone else and if one drops it would be the biggest upgrade for me over anyone else.

TIB is mostly on how your guild uses it.

Mine ignores the order in which things were listed and goes purely off who benefits from an item the most as well as what else they are getting.

We use it as an open Loot Council basically.

Yeah I prefer 2SR as well as MS>OS but very rarely do guilds run that.

Been raiding for years and i always get a full kit.

Bad players hate LC because they aren’t rewarded for underperforming. Makes sense why you don’t like it.

As far as thatsmybis you rank stuff in order of importance for you.

You can go another step like my guild does and there is another addon that you can import the thatsmybis into the game and it will automatically award players loot based off the list.

We used it this week and loot was much faster.

LC only works when people do it right. I was always a top parser and got cucked in classic because the GM was rl friends with the other mage. Yeah that’s what I thought, it’s not just a random list of your bis but rather what items you need the most in order…etc

People use the website in different ways… My guild uses it so they have a reference of what each raider wants/needs and what item is better utilized by which class… But the LC still decides what goes where in the end.

We use it in the way you described. I dont mind spending time running sims so I listed my order in biggest upgrade to smallest. I also added pieces that are less contested further down my list. Aka a wishlist not just only bis items.

I will add our guild hides the list so we don’t have everyone putting the same item in the same order. We saw that as a possible issue early on. If they did it would be just like you said one person always getting lucky.

Pretty much every system rewards players who are good.

No lasting guild is going to outfit friends first versus a guy that has a 95% parse at his ilvl.

Yes it’s just bad players who hate LC, they shocked their 44 parses aren’t getting them as much gear a the 90+ parser

Why would guilds structure loot like every single pug raid currently running?

If you want guilds who do loot better, find more hardcore guilds, the players who absolutely know they will clear all the hardmodes are doing loot correctly, which is how you do the hard stuff.

Joining a higher end guild will get rid of most players loot complaints, assuming they have what it takes to hang.

Thatsmybis is just a website where players in a guild make a list of their items in order of priority.

How a guild chooses to use that information is based on the guild.

For one of the guilds I was in, it was thatsmybis and LC. If item X dropped, it would go to whoever had the item higher on their list. If tied with other players, the LC would chose based on parses, attendance, upgrade potentional, and when last received loot.

That said, thats just how my guild did it, and another guild could do it based on however they do loot.

In the end, thatsmybis is really just a wishlist in order for gear. Its useful information for a LC to have.

It’s definitely not just bad players that hate LC, you seem to forget human nature and there’s already people pointing that out.

the system called “LC” stand for “Let’s Collect our bis items before we give anything to anyone” xD

Idk all loot systems have flaws,.I haven’t had anything bad with LC yet and I have played since vanilla…

Loot has to be distributed somehow and no system is perfect.

Y’all too worried about loot tbh.

A prio system makes the most sense which is how a lot of big non-LC guilds do it. So you can still get bonuses added to your base score from attendance or losing a roll, but generally you only get one or two slots per tier. So if you have an item listed as your #1 prio, and someone else has it listed as their #2, you win. If they have it as #1 also, you roll on it etc etc.

If it’s just “if you have it listed anywhere on your list, you roll equally” then that seems like a flawed interpretation of the system

Is your boyfriend the GM? I don’t know anyone who has played since vanilla who could honestly say they haven’t had a bad experience with LC, except for the people who just don’t care about loot and wouldn’t have had a problem with any system.

LC takes agency from the other raiders and opens the entire system to human bias/greed/favoritism etc etc etc. I’d rather ANY objective system than one where loot is handed out based on the whims of the officers who may or may not even know what they’re talking about (speaking as a former officer.)

I could almost see it if we were conquering M+ levels of difficulty, but Classic just isn’t that serious. The only reason for LC in Classic is greed/elitism. Plain and simple.

sometimes i list my ‘bis’ as earlier items so i am decked by the time we get to final bosses. less competition that way.

LC = Loser Council. Period.

Idk LC is done by most guilds including all top tier guilds.

They clear content and get loot.

I will be full bis before ulduar is out and we do LC.

Yall way to worried about loot.
